i would of liked to have seen blows landed before the ref starts waving his hands.
joshua landed an uppercut maybe 30 secs previously which caused the stoppage basically.
but i think klit was defending when the fight was actually stopped. joshua didnt land hardly nothing when klitchko was on the ropes.
ive watched the stoppage twice.
what do you all think?
the stoppage could be good for klitchko as he wasnt ko'd unconscious and can fight again knowing he wasnt really badly ko'd.
I have no problem with the referee jumping in to save Klitschko.
He was hurt and dropped twice and wasn't throwing back as he did when he got knocked down in the 5th. As Malignaggi mentioned during the live broadcast, Klitschko had nothing left by that time in the 11th to keep Joshua off of him, he was done.
Good Stoppage
Wlad was intelligently defending himself, whilst not exactly attacking back. But many defense experts make a career out of that.
Josh tried koing wlad earlier in fight around the 5th round and punched himself out doing so was gassed in 6th.
Josh was missing a lot in 11th so gassing out again isn't far fetched.
Although I don't want anyone getting hurt I would say it was stopped prematurely.
The only reason you could say stoppage was OK was that wlad had been down twice earlier in round. But let's imagine you didn't know that and you just saw highlights of stoppage you'd be thinking why the hell was it stopped wklad didn't look in trouble. He was just trying to avoid his head being taken clean off shoulders.
So we'd all resemble wlad
Good to see tehse 2 know who they are.
Proved my point for me :pat:
Actually didn't prove anything since I just said, and have said in the past, that it was not the correct call.
I just know you have it out for me.
The difference here is Wladimir showed heart, Kovalev is a quitter.
You referring to me?
I don't think Ward vs Kovalev was "a good stoppage" but I do enjoy making fun of cry babies who act like it was the most disgraceful thing to have ever happened in history

Doesn't really make a difference.
With 3:25 minutes left to fight, probably 2-3 points down on scorecards and barely standing, Klitschko had already lost the fight.

Well lets look at this again. Ok I only caught a body-shot, Wlad picked the wrong time to be slick he should of gone back to what worked for him and clinched.
The particular moment of stoppage wasn't that great because Klitschko wasn't getting hit much, if at all, in that last exchange. But considering how much damage he took in that round and how few punches he landed in return.. I wasn't mad with it.
Not the best but far from the worst stoppage.
