There is no footage of Connor in a boxing match that you could study. The guy is unpredictable, has real KO power, and is unlike any boxer Floyd has faced.
Floyd is 40, been out the ring for years, has brittle hands and can't KO'ed anyone.
If Floyd gets KO'ed that would mean the end of boxing as a sport. Even if Floyd wins, but the fight goes a few rounds and Connor lands a few punches, it would make boxing look real bad.
Floyd is a piece of sh1t for risking the entire sport like that for a few $$$.
I'm struggling with this argument. Why on earth is it a disaster for boxing? If Roger Federer wins the British Open Golf do we say wow who knew tennis skills could translate? No, we'd say who knew Roger was a great GOLFER?
If Conor wins he can't be anything but a great BOXER and should be welcomed with open arms by the boxing community.
Off course it wont hurt boxing in any way it could hurt Floyds legacy but not the sport as a whole, Ive been following the sport for over 50 yrs and its stronger today than its ever been and still producing the highest paid athletes in world sport.
Id like a dollar for every time Ive heard somebody say that such and such happening will be the end of boxing, lol they don't know what they are talking about and look through short term eyes.

Silly thread.
Guy has zero record in boxing.
Has been getting KO'd in sparring by sub par boxers.
I've been saying Rod Salka would give this guy hell.
He could get caught any second by the best eva.
Gregor could end up in the emergency hospital.
Someone could get sued for even approving this meaningless circus
between fighters whose boxing skills are oceans apart.
If anything this fight is dangerous for MMA.
Explain.
Cause I only see positives for MMA.
Like McConor told Floyd Sr...
- "You're fan, Floyd senior, quit lying. I could see it in your eyes. I know, I can see a fan when I see one."

I'd like to invite you to this thread:
The Most Significant Boxing Match in History? Mayweather-McGregor?
If, if, if McGregor beats Mayweather, where would that bout rank in terms of significance, importance, in Boxing history?
If Mayweather wins, then the repercussions would obviously not be all that significant... it's expected that Mayweather wins. But I think the ramifications of a Conor McGregor, an MMA fighter, a Boxing amateur, upsetting the Boxing world would be earth-shattering for the sport. Mayweather being who he is, 49-0, TBE, etc... this might be the most significant bout ever.
Ahhh okay fair enough my bad.
If Conor comes in fighting like he fights in the cage he legit might not land a punch lol.
I do like Conor's fluidness. If I ever get rich I'm hiring one of those "motion coaches" or whatever that guy is called that works with Conor cuz Conor transitions into the next thing better than anyone in MMA I think & I suspect thats something he'll try to use to his advantage vs Floyd.
he can only keep that movement for 1 round lmao
watch round 3 of diaz vs mcgregor. he starts walking around gassed while getting his head beat in by zombie ass diaz. no more springing around like a floozy.
Cause he kod an undersized, chin up no guard Aldo lol
nah in boxing that would be a KD. cus Aldo was getting back up when Conor followed up with hammer fists.
lol so not even KO power.
I disagree with just about everything you said. Mayweather probably hits harder and certainly takes a punch better than any MMA guy his weight. He has been boxing for over 30 years so he doesn't need film of Conor boxing to figure him out. I think Mayweather will win every round by a mile and KO Conor whenever he wants to.If you think Conor will win then bet on him and make lots of money if Conor wins.If Conor KOs Mayweather it would hurt boxing's image as a combat sport but it wouldn't be the end of boxing. If boxing is in such a fragile state that a Conor KO win would be the end of boxing then let it die and get it over with. If Mayweather slaughters Conor as expected it will be good for boxing. Win, lose or draw I don't think this fight will effect boxing all that much one way or the other. Mayweather is not a pos for taking this fight. He saw a chance to make many millions for a very easy fight so he took it just as most of us would do if we were in his shoes.

Im not really a Floyd fan and I don't think his upcoming win will add to his legacy. He has an opportunuty to make huge money in this fight. Good for him.
Does Groves reallllllllly have "great power"? I'd argue most of his KO's are to low level guys that most guys at his skill level + with fair power would KO & he usually goes the distance vs the quality guys to the top ten guys.
The last one was impressive, but I think Fedor mainly had a bad fight plan with lil defense being used more than Groves Foreman'd him or something.
Interesting idea I guess, but I mainly think the gloves being 4oz is whats really in play along with the reality that in MMA defense isn't barely even a thing due to the gloves not offering much safety/guard since they are so much smaller along with MMA scoring not considering defense at all in its scoring criteria.
Apologies, Groves was suggesting McG's power was legit not his own...
Floyd has never watched tape of fighters, that is well documented. The thing that has made Floyd so special is his ability to figure out what a guy is doing while the fight is going on and adjust. He is Floyd I think the first 3 rounds of this fight maybe a lil weird and unorthodox but after the 3rd Floyd will start walking him down and peppering him with pot shots. Until he makes him quit in the 7th when Conner is gasping for oxygen.
Conditioning is going to be Conners biggest problem.
Why do people mention that Connor is unorthodox for Floyd and not mention than Floyd is unorthodox for Connor? Virtually everything Floyd does in the ring is unorthodox for Mcgregor - because he's a world class boxer.
I'm just pretending that it's not happening. A few weeks of hype, then Mayweather will "retire" again and then the ugly ginger kid will fook off back to MMA with his tail between his legs.
LOL. Idk how people keep saying that casually & without thinking.
Ray Mercer who had 20 years of boxing experience got his quickest KO in combat sports in a MMA bout (9 seconds) at 40 something. And I'd argue it was because of those lil ass gloves. You put Paulie M in 4oz gloves & I bet he'd even have a 50% KO percentage.
That being the case common sense would suggest putting on double the cushion gloves is gonna have some change in power. How much or how little is up for debate, but its lowering it for sure.
Im not stalking honest ;o)
George Groves made an interesting point, that he does have great power and part of the reason is he hits from such distance dues to MMA and has everything behind his punches.
He did go on to say that any boxer with good reading and movement would avoid such shots all day long.
Whether or not you like Groves he does talk a lot of sense when being objective.
