Quillin could have defended against Korobov for decent money and remained active instead of taking a long layoff. He hasn't been a title holder since he vacated his belt.
I remember when Quillin was a prospect. He showed some good stuff and everyone took him seriously. As soon as he won a belt, he had it in his head that all the hard work should be over. He turned into a different fighter overnight in a bad way.
I was watching that counterpunch docu last night and this is the thing about Quillin. He loves being a boxer but he doesn't love actually boxing. He's talented but he's not into the sport. He wants to be known as Peter Quillin the boxer and get the attention but he doesn't want to box.
Same with Andre direll.
Didn't he turn down a huge offer from RNS?
Yeah, he could of signed for a million+ with RNS. He made a similar amount fighting Quillin but now he's going no where.
Could of got that RNS money and probably safer paydays for a bit before getting laid out.
