Do you think Kovalev would have received credit if after he dropped Ward he finished the fight with consecutive beltline/below the belt shots? Would Ward fans have accepted the loss?
First thing you have to ask yourself is whether Ward would have whined and tried to quit like ***** like Kovalev did every time a body shot/low blow landed.
ward is very competetive. If he thought he was low blowed he would have just retaliated in kind or just got angry and mauled the **** out of Kovalev.
He wouldn't have tried to con the ref multiple times, turned his back on the ref and the opposition, and left himself vulnerable. He wouldn't have looked gassed AF either coz he aint got stamina/body issues.
Next up: Watch Thurman quit like a bish too when Errol delivers that body treatment.

Depends which Ward 'fans' you're talking about, man. Most guys that just like to follow boxing and like Andre for his skills, style, grit or whatever would probably shrug their shoulders and say sh1t happens, like most Kovalev fans who don't have some agenda to push. The guys who believe themselves to be involved in some kinda racial superiority sh1t played out in a boxing ring would probably hang onto that sh1t for a long, long time.
In short we'd see the exact same range of behaviours we're seeing now, except in reverse.
Kovalev did good in first fight better in the second. good jab, right hand to the body, was better on the inside then in the first fight. In the late rounds he was setting started the right with his left hook for the KO before Ward got dirty.
Ward knew the end was coming that's why he started butting and crouch-shots. BTW where is Stevenson? why isn't he calling out both Ward, Kovalev or Jack.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Kovalev had no plan B. Just went for broke, got tired, lost. I remember watching him working out for this fight (non boxing stuff). He looked awkward & weak.
He should of done more sit ups but that's not his mindset. He honestly beat himself in both fights. Dude has mad skills just is bull headed.
He's got a great fast jab. He could of controlled the fight with just his left hand for 12 rounds. He should of rarely used his right.
Again, what fight was Cotto involved in where he was awarded a tko win after a low blow? You reaching again
Son that lowblow saved the fight for Cotto..look at all that blood on Cotto's chest...it aint Judahs
Cotto got himself out of serious trouble with those low blows in the first round. When you compare that to what happened with Ward and Kovalev it's laughable. Ward had zero motive. Cotto had every motive.
a Cotto fan crying about low blows???
What fight was Cotto involved in where he got a tko win off a low blow? Damn Larry you still here defending anything that has to do with a black fighter. Not everything is a race issue bre
We will take the L like a men you have grown men crying and being sore losers like the kovalev fan but would of could of should of but didn't lol take that L like a men
What does "would of" even mean?
Why do people make this silly mistake? It's 'would have'.
With that said, shoulda, woulda, coulda but he didn't. Kovalev is 0-2 vs Ward and that's that. What the two fights showed was that 10 times out of 10, Ward beats Kovalev and probably gets better as the fights go on, while Kovalev stays the same.
Na it didn't but many acting like the right hand is what finished him not the questionable below the belt shots. Same could have been said of Ward after getting dropped.

Well if:
-Ward was as hurt as Kovalev was in round 8 (which he was not in round 2 of fight 1 in my opinion), and appeared basically finished before the low blow
-Ward bellyached about belt line bodyshots earlier in the round
-Ward was in a position at the ending prior to the low blow that made it harder for the ref to judge whether the shots were landing clean, and which suggested Ward may have had all he can handle to body
-Ward was not defending himself meaningfully, and did not go down or take a knee
-Ward was not really throwing much back
Then yes, I would have to accept it. I probably wouldn't love it, but yes I would accept it.
But if it was something like this:

And then the ref stopped the fight, I would b1tch like no tomorrow. Here Kosta Tsyzu was not done by any means, not looking like he wanted out by any means, and then Hatton just socks him with a blatant low blow that brings him to his knees. If the ref waved it off after that shot, I would be unconsolably pissed.
To be clear, I'm not saying Weeks' stoppage was the best decision. It wasn't. But to act as though the only thing he considered was the low blow from the very last shot is dishonest.
But it didn't happen!! Reality vs hypothetical bliss on dat ass!!
