The very last one was low but the fight was over at that point. Kov's face says it all. He didn't want anymore smoke.
people keep bringing this up like it matters :lol1:. "he didn't want any more smoke." :lol1:
you guys really don't have it in you to be objective. starting to see what is going on here, frankly, with all of these reactions.
the fight was literally stopped on a low blow. ward's one of the dirtiest top tier boxers in the world right now. it's not like this is a gentlemanly fighter who made some mistakes. this is a guy who constantly bends the rules with holding, head butts, and now low blows. it is what it is.
be objective or expect me to treat you like kids.
anybody who says they weren't clearly low blows is either being an idiot, a black supremacist , a ward fanboy or all of the above, or jus clearly mistaken and needs to look for themselves rather than follow what the commentators are saying
i understand it...we naturally gravitate towards what commentators are professing since they are paid to be objective analysts but i would rather listen to my own opinion than theirs. i dont assume they never make mistakes and i dont assume they know more about boxing. they just articulate better
Remember this. It was NOT a low blow! It was an airpocket aka a legal punch.
Haha playing dumb with your strawman again I see. Have some shame.
Most referees would have called the punches in your sig low blows. They clearly land below Kovalev's navel, which is the definition of below the waist = low.
Hell, Weeks himself was calling punches like that low earlier in the fight.
True. No one with eyes and a brain can say those shots weren't low. Not that the outcome of the fight would change but still the notion that Ward wasn't given a pass is ridiculous. Ward is the chosen one. He's teflon, kind of like the Clintons :). Guy is a talented fighter and knows how to win particularly when he has the right referee in his ring. Bottom line...Kovalev didn't have what it takes to retaliate, he was gassed out.

Real talk though: A stand-up referee would have given Kovalev 5 min recovery time and deducted Ward a point. Ward got help from officials Again.

You can clearly see Ward's glove hitting the belt line as shown by the red arrow. First the Hublot air pocket gets crushed without any impact damage. Then Kovalev's body absorbs the impact when Ward's glove crashes into his belt. That's a borderline shot.

on the strength of this single lowblow determined the outcome of the fight.
It is now confirmed that the last punch is a legit body shot. Weeks steps in and puts the racist out of his misery.

Borderline. Legal blow. Admitted by Kovalev in post fight interview.
Kovalev was not able to defend himself making him unsafe to continue in the fight. That's why Weeks stopped the fight.
Even the last blow was borderline, but Kovalev was hunched over 90 degrees, it's going to come in low. The ref stopped the fight because Kovalev stopped defending himself. This is non sense the fight was over.
