The first shot in the video shows half of ward's gloves going below the belt. The 2nd shot in slow motion clearly shows ward's gloves fully below the belt. I've never witnessed someone get away with such cheating in my life since I started watching boxing. I do agree that ward had more momentum going into the 8th, but if you're a ward fan and you can't admit those were low blows you're a biased fan boy.
1:05 clearly below the belt.
Different vid shorter clip. Blatant low blow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFzrIExfX3c

It was practically an even fight before the 8th. Any fighter who get s hit with repeated low blows and the ref doses nothing will end up losing a 50/50 fight. That's a retarded way of looking at it. So from now on, we shouldn't care if one guy hits the other guy low 5 times and dosen't get called for it?
No because the probability of them changing the call are slim to none and no way does this fight get a third

Video slow motion doesn't prove a damn thing. This sound like that lame ass argument that Pacquaio fans tried to use when they said if you watch the Mayweather fight in slow motion, Pacquaio won. You are grasping at straws and not doing a good job of it.
Also, as I have stated before, when a fighter chooses to bend over, any punch his opponent throws is a legal punch. It is not Andre Ward's fault that Kovalev bent over to duck those last three body shots. If Kovalev had stayed upright, there would be no question about the legality of the punches.
No Larry, you are a pathetic loser. You called me an alt three times in my first hour on this forum. Go punch yourself in the bladder and balls (if you have any) a few times and do not bend over big man.
LOL, another hilarious post, thanks. I also like the belt line picture.
Imagine the reaction if the reverse happened...Weeks calls an end to the fight after Ward is doubled over after a crotch shot.
Yeah, Ward fans would have the same exact argument that the Kovalev fans are currently using.

True that. If the shoe was on the other foot there would be outrage.
I believe Ward was on his way to winning and I don't think Kovalev would have made it to round 12.
But you have to call it both ways and not be a hypocrite. I couldn't tell where most of those "body shots" landed but the last one was clearly low, so you have to be honest about it.
If that happened to Ward. Yeah, fools would be going crazy in here.
Saturday was as decisive as you can get.
You don't think Kova really wants more of that, do you?
Decisive as you can get would have been Kovalev on his back for the 10 count. Instead the fight ended with a low blow which allows discussions like this to continue.
It was decisive for some of us, but It Is hard to argue with the other side considering they have a valid point.

would be even worse now.but since kovalev is russian no one cares.if the fight happened in another country those shots are low.
I don't want to see a 3rd fight. I saw quite enough.
Maybe later down the line at Cruiserweight if both guys are still fighting and both relevant or somewhat relevant. And if there's nothing else out there for both guys later on down the line.
But right now they both need to move on to different fights and fighters.
Very true, unfortunately we will not get a third fight to come to a decisive conclusion.

This is why I was saying the ref fvcked up by stopping the fight, particularly on a low blow. Because now it's still going on, the disagreements, disputes, etc...
He should have let the fight continue and let Ward win in an emphatic clear way. Where no debates, disputes, etc..can be argued.
But now, it is what it is though. I won't complain about your posts referring to a premature stoppage on a low blow because Weeks opened that door for you guys to complain about it. Even though I think Ward was on his way to victory I can't complain about you guys protesting the stoppage on a low blow. Weeks opened that door.

You have a point, It was a low blow and the fight was dead even. Would It have helped Kovalev If given a standard 5 minute rest Instead of having the fight waved off? I personally don't think so. He was hit with a picture perfect right hand that had him shook In a big way. Everyone watching at home and that paid to be there deserved a more conclusive ending though.

False. There were more low blows before that. And lol justifying the low blow. That should have been a point deduction if the ref did his job and it would have been a 10-8 rd for kovalev.
You can't show one definite blow before that that wasn't on the beltline, so stop it man.

Dude Kovalev was bent over defenseless..
it is the same damn fanbase that continues to make excuses for the fighters they keep jumping to..all with their slow motion sh1t..they are pathetic losers
It really is amazing in its own way...
You do realize the second video you posted actually VINDICATES Ward, right?
It repeatedly shows Weeks in a fight as far back as 2008 establishing the beltline as fairgame (same thing he did at the beginning of this fight).
It then shows Ward landing right on that same beltline that Weeks told both fighters was legal- and has always considered legal in his bouts.
Great job proving Ward won fair and square...

The last punch probably strayed low due to how Kova was bent over. But, the two before were legal and Kova was done with the first one.

Clearly you must be blind because the punch that ended the fight was below the belt line.
