We just watched him break down an opponent in 2 consecutive fights with a relentless body attack. He was also effective in fights against Froch and his right to the body left hook upstairs combo was executed beautifully against Dawson and E Rod.
Some other great body punchers IMO include Canelo, GGG, Salido, Danny Garcia and Errol Spence
Ward is a lot of things. A great puncher he is not.
Using a highly controversial low blow fight or beating up on drained Dawson are horrible examples of being a great body puncher.
Ward is actually a good body puncher. His punches are well placed for maximum effect. I would rank him with some of the top body punchers but there is so much more to his skill set that it doesn't get a lot of attention.
Remember. The only guy whose jabs matter is Golovkin because "he throws it like a power punch".
I was talking as a measuring of accuracy because the jab is not always thrown to land, sometime to cancel someone of the opposite stance's jab, to set up other punches or just to keep busy.
I don't think you would understand these finer points.
Yup, Andrew Golota was in love with punching nut sacks.
Yeah, and Mares was always quite bad but in the first Agbeko fight he must have landed 30 low blows, Brutal.
Ward has to go in at number 3, just for those 5 that landed in round 8 and getting a stoppage with them
A lot of boxers have the odd one go stray here or there, or get desperate in a fight and throw it. But hard to find those that do it all the time like the ones stated.
Yeah the one Cotto caught Judah with.
Not sure anyone can top Golota though.

They were egregious. These were borderline shots that the ref told both guys were ok.
Kov just had a yeast infection and wanted out.
You do know that anything bellow the naval is considered a low blow?
Do you think ref's can make up their own boxing rules?
Judah, lol, then Judah got payed back for that from Cotto when Cotto punched Judah on the balls a couple of times.
I'm not sure, I'm not familiar with too many low blow punchers.

What do you think about Golota low blows on Bowe?
Were they OK for you?

Was thinking of putting Judah, but he is only know for one really.
Maybe Duran?
Any ideas?

Weeks is a ref, not a gynecologist so he couldn't help kov.
My guess is his new strength coach gave him estrogen instead of meldonium by mistake. It showed-kov was both tired and pussy.

Damn! Do you think Ward punched it clean off?
I don't blame Ward, he is a fighter and he has to fight and do what he has to do to win. Weeks on the other hand is in charge of the action and has to challenge infractions and enforce the rules of boxing.
He not only failed in that but made the wrong call and ruined the fight.

Lol, is this a top 5 list for the best low blow punchers?
Who is #5 on your list?
