Even though I did think Ward was on his way to winning whether in that round or a round or two later. That stoppage was premature and bogus imo. Ward was robbed of the clear, emphatic victory he deserved. Everyone today should be talking about how epic the victory was, but that kind of ending gives people something to complain, protest, disagree about. Kov was beaten man deal with it. I don't like to make excuses but this two fights now. The excuses needs to stop. Yes the ref stopping it at that point was dumb, but Kov had a part to play in that too. He dropped both his hands to protect his body, left himself exposed to the face. I could see what the ref was thinking. Even in the mid-round of the 8th after Ward landed those two bodyshots on Kov, Kov went half way down backing off like he wanted to take a knee. Ward was then looking at weeks like are you going to stop this!!!
