Don't count McGregor out. He's live and has a proven chin - and won't be scared or gun shy like toradol-less Pacquiao. He'll go out on his sword.
People underestimate mental fortitude. Just like Buster Douglas wouldn't allow fear to conquer his own confidence - I believe McGregor may be so inexperienced it might work towards his advantage.
This will be a good fight. I'm excited and will order the fight.
I give Floyd the edge but McGregor will do much better vs Floyd than Jeff Hornacek does against Pacroid.
Whose team does this dumb Fvck work for
McGregor knows he doesn't have a chance. Don't watch boxing man, you have no fvcking clue what's going on in the ring. Your comparisons are pathetic to the point I can believe someone didn't pay you to write this garbage.
Sometimes the dumbness of my fellow boxing fans makes me sad I enjoy a sport with so many dumb mfers, but being the optimistic I am I try to use these times as a teaching moment for the less fortunate among my brothers & sissies.

To start there isn't really anything like this fight in the gloved modern rules days til today that I'm aware of. Or previous to the gloved era I guess, but I am less of a nerd about the bare knuckle days & I'd argue thats less comparable cuz records weren't as well kept to begin with to know how many fights guys had or didn't have among other issues to make a fair comparison to Floyd vs Conor.
BUT if you were trying to come up with a worthwhile example that goes with your theory of a potential upset I'd use the example of Pete Rademacher, who while an established amateur (multiple GG titles + an Olympic gold medal in '56) unlike McGregor, was thrown in deep f#cking waters in his pro debut vs the HW champion at the time Floyd Patterson & actually dropped Patterson in the 2nd round before being KO'd in the 6th.

Some quotes about that fight:
Joe Louis was Oscaring my boy Floyd "Money" Patterson.
And there are other examples in the lil guy divisions of guys being put into meaningful title fights in their pro debut & actually winning vs opponents of varying previous successes that have come from kickboxing/muay thai backgrounds often times. The female North Korean title holder Hyun Mi Choi won a 126lb title in her pro debut although its less sexy than it sounds since it was a vacant belt & her opponent was a mere 1-0 herself.
So sh^t can definitely happen in a one's first pro fight despite unadventurous minds thinking otherwise, but I mean the most likely outcome here is no secret although I respect you being able to consider a scenario where crazy sh^t does happen.
I was thinking more like Apollo creed vs Rocky balboa.
Great post!
I see many similarities here -
Floyd "money" paterson =
Floyd "money" Mayweather
This fight is being called a circus = "Rademacher is also well known in northern Ohio for the gasoline-powered one wheel "unicycle" he rides in local parades."
The writing is on the wall my fellow boxing enthusiasts!
The thing is...McGregor is not really a very good boxer...and Mayweather is. Therein lies the difference. McGregor couldn't even box with Nate Diaz...how the fuck is he going to box with Mayweather?
Buster had 34 professional boxing fights under his belt when he fought Tyson. 29 of which were wins (1 was a draw).
Bad comparison is a bad comparison.
this is has to be the selling point because nothing else makes sense.
''nobody gave buster a chance and look what happened !!!!!''
well buster was a professional boxer. let me know when an 0-0 NON BOXER guy does something special in the squared circle.
people are really doing their best to rationalize buying this junk :lol1:
I thought you were on Floyd's side? Now you trying to sabatoge what will probably be the BIGGEST EVENT IN BOXING HISTORY!
Man. I'm telling you, this is going to be a good fight.
Think positive. Closer to the fight I think you will come around though.
I can't believe there are people on a boxing forum that think this fight will be competitive. What kind of chance would you give Usain Bolt in a marathon against the best cross country runner in the world? When McGregor is blowing out of his ass in the 6th round like he's David ****ing Price I wonder what these people will be thinking
Well McGregor does coke. That's what makes it so challenging. You ever get into a fight with a coke head?
Besides Tyson wasn't 40 years old.
Despite what the pact@rds tell you, Floyd isn't a time traveling vampire that doesn't age.
Hes not but hes in good shape for his age. He never drank or partied and always kept a healthy lifestyle, if you do that you can still be in great athletic shape especially if you are naturally a great athlete like floyd is and a great fighter.
Look at wlad for example, he was coming off a long ass layoff and is past 40 and looked damn good in the AJ fight. Floyd will still be great shape and his athleticism will still be there.
Floyd isnt out partying and doing coke instead of training. Thats when tysons party lifestyle started and he went downhill.

Buster Douglas, you mean the PROFESSIONAL BOXER?
You act like McGregor doesn't fight professionally for a living.
After all he is a champion and will kick the shlt out of Hornacek in a bar fight.
