Ward's fought "big bad Kovalev" twice, I see no reason he wouldn't take on Stevenson. A one handed fighter will NEVER beat Andre Ward.
Normally I would agree with you but that left hand is so dynamic there's nothing Ward can do in that fight. Stevenson throws that left straight, to the body, he'll lead with it, and he'll loop it around the guard. Throw it from the inside and outside. The man is a freakin monster. Not many men on this earth can make Hopkins run to Kovalev for less money.
Probably another bum. Although there's a chance that gym realizes that stevenson is 39 and decide to either cash him out against kov /ward, or finally let him fight a live body from their own stable, ie Alvarez or Beterbiev - so the lineal and wbc passes within the same stable.
I say the Alvarez fight finally goes down, they were on the same card that fight is properly built to whatever it is going to be. If that for whatever reason doesn't get worked out something with like Badou Jack or Beterbiev perhaps Gvozdyk or Joe Smith but those might be more difficult to make. If he could get the winner of the big fight at 175 that would obviously be ideal.
This division is deep if he can't get the winner of the Ward vs kovalev fight we also have Beterbiev, Smith jr, Barrera, Gvozdyk, Badou jack... I'll be happy with any of these names.
Well since Alvarez won last night, he is the mandatory for the WBC now, isn't he?
Like Alvarez wants to end the fairy tale soon ? He will take all the paydays as long as he can ... You would do the same if you were him...
The only money match for Stevenson is the winner of Ward vs Koval.
It's time to challenge and I do believe he knows it!
Time for the biggest pay days available to all three of these men.
That's fighting each other.

At the very least Alvarez but hopefully Kovalev beats Ward. Because that's the fight that I want to see. I don't think Ward would go near Stevenson.
Like Ward wouldn't go near Kovalev once right ?
He should be defending his title against better fighters but so should most of today's champions. I was impressed with the power and accuracy of his straight left. He seemed to have radar for his powerful left and he just couldn't miss with that punch. He must be one of the three best light heavyweights in the world and a serious threat to Ward and Kovalev.

... you're on what, actually?...
... Ward didn't "fight" Kovaliov even "once"... he only wrestled him! :) :) :)
