It might be a little too early to put Spence in a fight like that right now.
But let's say down the line they get this fight made at like 158 or 160.
I know we can only go with what we know now. But speculate
What would happen and who would win in a fight
Canelo vs Spence
Only way Canelo and Spence fight is if Spence jumps up two weight classes for a once off fight and then gets back down to welterweight.
The reason I say this is because Spence won't move up to 154 because his stablemate Jermell Charlo is there and Jermell already stated his intentions to unify 154.
Jermell won't move up to 160 either because his twin brother is there and he too gonna prolly become unified champ. He fighting an eliminator for the wbc title soon which means that he gonna be the mandatory of Canelo vs GGG winner, and if he wins he'll be a unified champ.
So here's how it is. Spence won't move up to 154 because he'd be getting in the way of his stablemate, who won't move up to 160 coz then he'd be getting in the way of his twin brother.
That's why I say Spence fights Canelo only by jumping up for a once off fight. Only one who could make it possible I suppose is Andrade. If Andrade were to beat Jermell and unify 154 then prolly Spence would move up to challenge him.
Spence is a pretty big Welterweight. By 2019 I can see him moving up to 154.
If Jermell Charlo is still at 154 during that time, I'm sure they will just avoid each other and fight everyone else if they feel that strongly about it.
canelo slaughters him. spence walks his way inside in a straight line, he forces his way in sometimes doesnt even jab to do it. walk in on Canelo like that he'll be committing suicide. the uppercut from brook was catching Spence all night, the uppercut is canelos deadliest weapon. Spence has litte to no head movement. he'll be a punching bag for those lethal canelo combos. its over before then 10th.
That too, we have to see how Canelo does against Triple G.
And in the future depending on where Canelo is at, during that point of his career. And depending on if Spence cleaned out 147, moved up to 154, and if he does damage up there. Then a better assessment can be made.
It's too far off probably to know for sure now. Since Spence still has to finish his work at 147 and above.
But in time, better assessments can be made.
My opinion on Spence can change. It can also change on Canelo as well. It's all speculation at this point as far as the future is concerned.

Typical with this Forum people are just ALL OVER THE PLACE! Man won his 1st World Title at 147 and people already trying to get him to move up to 154 and 160 :lol1: mind you these are the same people who was calling him "Jeff Lacy" and said Kell Brook would "Expose Him"
Canelo kills spence. Not only is he bigger and stronger but he's faster, more skilled, better defense and better chin. And do people realize that Canelo is actually younger then spence? Canelo hasn't even peaked yet. I can't find a single advantage spence has over canelo. Only question is how good is spence chin and will he last for a 12 round azzz whopping or does he get knocked out before that. As for their styles only fighters who have given canelo any problems are guys who fight off the back foot and are elusive to hit/refuse to stay in the pocket forcing canelo to chase them. Spence doesn't fight like that and his defense is not very. Canelo wants guys to come forward so he can counter you. Brook had him confused and stunned him a few times he was losing until brook gassed out the second half of the fight. Canelo has too many layers to his game and is too smart for spence you add the fact that he's 2 weight classes bigger.
Canelo is 27 this year, he'll be 27 by the time he gets in the ring with GGG, Spence turned 27 this year too, so they're actually the same age.
Canelo was fighting and dominating grown men and world class fighters as a teenager while spence was fighting weaker comp in amateurs with headgear. Both have been developing and still are it's just canelo did it in the public eye on the bigger stage. But he's younger and still peaking. Spence is just now fighting the level of comp canelo was fighting 5 years ago. Canelo beats him now. Who knows where both guys are at whenever spence is done bullying small guys at 147 and decides to move up to middlweight but my money is on canelo. Spence has none of the attributes that have given canelo issues. Too easy to hit, slow, doesn't fight off his back foot, ect. If canelo beats GGG he's beating basically a bigger stronger version of spence.
That too, we have to see how Canelo does against Triple G.

Yea you are right. Off that analogy only Spence would kill Canelo because it took Canelo so long to knock Liam smith out. Give me a fuking break.
Did I type anywhere on this thread that Spence would beat Canelo? No
I said Canelo would beat Spence if they fought now, today. Canelo would win a UD 12 imo.
I'm just saying in the future, once we see how Spence develops, if he unifies 147, moves up to 154 and looks impressive. Then a Canelo-Spence fight would be an intriguing match up. It all depends on how Spence looks and develops though.
Nothing wrong in speculating a big fight between these two in the future. SMH
There almost the same age. Spence is only 6 months older than Canelo.
Canelo has been developing for many years earlier.
Imo, Canelo is pretty near his prime.
He will improve and get better. I just don't think it's going to be by much better than what he is now. He will get better, not a whole lot though, that's just my opinion.
I agree Spence still has more to prove at 147 and beyond. We have to see how he develops. My opinion could change depending on how Spence looks. Have to see how he develops first.
If Spence cleans out welterweight, moves up to 154 and looks impressive there. Then I can see Canelo and Spence in a big fight later.
And again, where did "I" say he beats Canelo. I didn't say that, other posters on this thread have. But I didn't say that. I'm just mentioning the potential of a big fight between Canelo and Spence in the future.
We just have to see how Spence develops.

Fighting weaker comp is more on Canelito
Saunder...lol
Not Charlo of Andrade.....no....not them
Kirkland....and Khan....that caters more to his style and ability.
Spence wants to unify
Canelito never had balls to do that.
Canelo already unified. Who did charlo beat? Canelo leftover Trout and nobody else. Struggled with the same trout that canelo put on his azz. Charlo ducked lara. Andrade? Nobody is ducking that fool who keeps himself inactive. Canelo fought EVERYBODY fans have asked him to fight. Spence has haymon protecting him all the top guys with haymon and we all know haymon picks the fights not the fighters. He could of fought danny, Thurman, porter, khan years ago but haymon wanted to keep the belts separate. Canelo fighting and beating top p4p and hall of famers spence has 1 decent win against a euro bum coming off a career beat down from GGG and nobody worth a damn before that. SMH
Spence at 27 fighting smaller and weaker competition is still developing getting better but canelo at 26 is not? Canelo who is younger but already peaked but spence is still developing that makes no sense. No matter when they fight canelo will be younger, naturally bigger, stronger, faster hands, better defense, name one attribute that is in spence favor? Right now he is bigger and stronger then other welterweights he's faced and just comes forward eating shots. If he does that with canelo he goes to sleep. I don't see spence getting much better then he is now. But as he faces better fighters and bigger fighters that lack of defense will bite him. Let him prove he is best welterweight then prove himself against top 154lbers then if canelo is still at 160 he can get that beatdown. But beating the 5th best welterweight don't mean you beating canelo.
There almost the same age. Spence is only 6 months older than Canelo.

He will improve and get better. I just don't think it's going to be by much better than what he is now. I'm basing that on level of competition that both have fought. Based on that I think Canelo is at or near his ceiling. He will get better, not a whole lot though, that's just my opinion. Spence still has to prove himself against more better fighters, elite level comp, etc...so he is still in the early development stages. Canelo is more in the advanced development stage.
I agree Spence still has more to prove at 147 and beyond. We have to see how he develops. My opinion could change depending on how Spence looks. Have to see how he develops first.

:haha::haha:
Now your just trolling.
Unlike Canelito....Spence don't get tired...doesn't loiter on the ropes...and can hold the center of the ring
Cotto gave Floyd a tougher fight than Canelito
Hell
Carlos Baldomir put up a better fight:lol1:
Look who Lil red fought at 154....smh
Only the easiest fighters and guys that moved up for a payday.
He didn't go after the big boys...he stayed in his place.
How do you know what spence stamina is he's had what 1 fight past the 10th before this weekend? You the troll bringing up Floyd is posts that have nothing to do with floyd. Floyd hangs out on the ropes like Canelo does dummy. Both guys get on the ropes and clown fighters as they use head movement and shoulder rolls to slip punches. It's called defense you damn right Spence doesn't do that because he has no defense. Canelo is picking on smaller fighter yet is younger then Spence and moved up 3 different weight classes while Spence looks hugging picking on tiny welterweights his entire career. Spence turned pro fighting at Jr middle weight and 14 of his first 18 pro fights were at Jr middleweight or 1 fight at middleweight. He's huge as phuk picking on tiny welterweights. Canelo is younger and yet his resume takes a dog crap on the bums spence has faced yet he's fighting only the easiest guys? Let's see cotto, floyd, GGG, trout, lara, mosley, chavez
or Brook, algeri, bundu, and Larry me and curly?
Fighting bums and handpicked smaller guys are you sure that's what you want to bring up in a discussion about spence who again is OLDER then canelo yet been fighting inferior smaller guys his entire career. LMAO
I didn't say Spence would beat Canelo? Where did I say that?
Canelo is pretty much close to his prime, I don't see him getting that much better than he is now. He may get a little better but he's at or very near his prime right now.
I know Spence has a lot more to prove and more growing to do as a fighter. And I acknowledge Canelo would beat him now if they fought today. In a 12 round decision, imo.
Later on down the line, who knows. Spence is a big welterweight, he'll be going to 154 in 2 years or so time, maybe sooner. They can negotiate a weight or maybe Spence can just fight Canelo at 160. Depending on how Spence develops. Then we might be able to gage that fight a little better down the road.
If they fought today, I have Canelo winning for sure. Down the line this has the potential to be a big fight. We just have to see how Spence develops.

And canelo isn't still developing? He gets better every fight and is younger then spence. Spence just beat at best the 5th best welterweight in the world and his only top 10 ranked fighter in any weight class now he beats elite fighters at 154 and 160? LMAO
I didn't say Spence would beat Canelo? Where did I say that?

:lol1::lol1:
But he couldn't win ONE round from Mayweather.
Canelito ain't knocking out sh*t.
Does spence fight ANYTHING like floyd? Hell no he's an offensive, slow, weak defensive fighter. Styles make fights cotto busted up floyd nose and that fight was close. So I guess cotto should destroy canelo then right? Nope canelo beats cotto easier then floyd did and didn't get his face busted up to do it. Canelo was a green pup when he fought floyd and is much better fighter today and there is only 1 floyd and spence is damn sure not floyd. He is not a defensive fighter let alone of the greatest defensive fighters of alltime.
If they fought right now I would say Canelo wins in a 12 round decision. Most likely Unanimous.
If Liam Smith can last 9 rounds and a weight drained punching bag Chavez Jr can last 12 rounds. I see Spence making it to the 12th round as well. Right now Canelo would win though.
But in the future, who knows. We have to see how Spence develops.

Any fighter with the goods to KO Spence would have given Floyd a run for his money...and stopped Cotto...Trout...and Lara.
Dont knock Canelo over that fight, that was a fight where Floyd was scared enough to bring his absolute A game, top 3 Floyd performance, Canelo was super sharp there he simply was bested in every facet

Canelo boxes the ever loving shyt out of Spence, if spence is able to survive past 8, he may be able to outpoint Canelo with his Stamina, but Im not impressed yet, there are about 6-7 better welters than brook with better resumes, and Brook was laying all type of hands on spence.....Both Spence and Brook dropped down a notch after that fight to me.
