"Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Brook said: "They kept me in until about 3am. I had a CT scan on my eye and the eye is broken again, same as the Golovkin one, so, maybe surgery again."
Golovkin ruined him man, crazy. This reminds me of when Pac ruined Margarito for life only this time is 1000x times worse which is what makes Golovkin the greatest of all time.
Damn that sucks. Not once but twice..and different eyes !
It doesn't bode well for his mind-set going into future fights.
That's why i didn't want to criticize him last night. The operation he had sounded a pretty grim one, and he was told he could of went blind had the fight gone on longer. Then the same thing happens again..i can't hold it against him for quitting. Your sight is more important.
I mean, he fought something like 3 rounds with a broken orbital against GGG, then 4 against Spence with the same kind of injury. Those guys punch hard and accurate too boot.
That's why i thought Bellew was jumping the gun a little last night. There was another interview where he said stuff along the lines of he wouldn't of quit because he hasn't got it in him, and he's cut from a different cloth.
Lot's of fighters say the same, Brook would of said the same if you asked him back before the GGG fight.
But until you are in the ring dealing with that, being hit on an eye socket that broken, for the 2nd fight on the spin, after being warned previously about your eye sight..then it's easy to say.
Perfectly stated. Easier said than done. I always love these Sunday morning trainers. They know it all

Yup, called it exactly
Not saying Change anything just ADD a few things. I do think fighters can add a few tricks as they get older and is no longer the fastest or the strongest guy in the ring :dunno:
Kell just needs to "stop fighting better fighters," as he has done throughout most of his career.
You can't change a fighter this late in his career, be realistic
He quit, the guys at 154 are strong and hit harder, he has no size advantage at that weight
He should retire

Speedy recovery for him! Still only 31 so I don't think he is done HOWEVER when he returns he has to be More Defensive! His Defense always been kinda shaky and 2 eye back to back confirms that. Also his INSIDE Game or Lack of one! He is strong as hell physically he was pushing Spence Jr around but he has NO INSIDE GAME as far as throwing punches on the inside.
Wouldn't say fire Dominic Ingle but if moving up to 154 he will need a inside game since in that Division he will be the shorter guy most of those match ups and his reach is not that long so if he doesn't add a inside game at 154 it is going to be difficult to find success against the Champs at 154!

He'll be back. I don't think he'd want his career to end like that.
Once both eyes have been mended. I dont its possible to break a metal socket.
So maybe can comeback. I dont know.
I don't believe it. Show us the receipts or I won't accept it. His eye does not look that bad, just looks a little swollen. I think he's trying to save face after he quit in front of thousands of his hometown fans over a little swelling

Good post. I completely agree
Dang this dude has some fragile eye sockets. Two fights, two broken eye sockets.
I didn't want to jump the gun on Brook yesterday until I knew the extent of his injury.
So clearly he had Triple G flashbacks regarding his eye. I can't say I blame him. I'm sure he doesn't want to go blind. I'll give Brook a pass on this one.
It sucks, it's unfortunate that this happened again, but it is what it is.
