Thurman has a better resume than Crawford and he is very skilled. He handled the most physical welterweight in the game, Shawn Porter with ease. And he made Garcia look silly. But yet he does not get the same level of respect as Crawford, GGG, Roman, and Loma who you could argue dont have as good of a resume. Why is this? Is it because he cant switch hit? Or is it because he isnt a loud mouth.
Doesnt matter Porter and Garcia are better than Postol, Gamboa, and Diaz.
There are no universe where Garcia is better than Postol. For one, Garcia didn't want anything to do with him when he was a jr welterweight, and 2 they both have a common opponent. Garcia went life and death with him and Postol put on a clinic. As for Porter, he isn't proven at all, and again, Thurman barely got through him.
how is it better? crawford beat more top guys across more divisions.
The stand out names on Crawford's resume are Gamboa and Postol.
Thurman's stand out names are Porter and Garcia.
By the eye test, skills, craft, ring generalship yeah Crawford is better. I'm inclined to believe he's better overall and pound 4 pound as well. I believe and have that inclination about him too.
All I'm saying is that it's a good point. That's all I'm saying.
I'm not saying Thurman is better or X, Y and Z.
Just saying TS brings up a good point.
Tranquilo guys, Tranquilo
Porter would've destroyed Diaz.
So what? That's just an opinion because it never happened, and probably wouldn't happen. Hey, I'd welcome Porter to take a fight with Diaz to see how it shakes out, but Porter has the ugliest style to behold, it's a wonder he's got fans like you ready to cup them jewels.
And when is the last time Thurman just toyed with a guy? I mean here we have Crawford, fighting switch, completely having his way with an Olympic gold medalist, being outweighed on fight night, and knock knock knocking on the guy's forehead! :lol1: Man, that was humiliating.

Both guys have good resumes. I think Crawfords performances have looked more dominant, and also he usually gets the stoppage, and Thurman has looked great but not really dominant in his more recent scraps, and the power just isn't what I thought it was. But tbh i think both guys get a same amount of respect and cred. Crawford fought more recently so hes buzzing right now.
TS brought up a good point. Right now Thurman has a better resume. I like both guys.
The eye test tells you Crawford is better. With thr skills, craft, etc.. similar to Loma
Thurman's resume at the moment is better
TS brought up a good point in this thread.

better resume, better performances. why wouldn't he be ranked higher? because you like him more isnt really the best reason
TS brought up a good point. Right now Thurman has a better resume. I like both guys. I always rank people objectively, honestly, realistically.

That's all I'm saying is it's a good piont.
Thurman's only relevant wins are Garcia and Porter and one of them isn't even regarded as an out and out win because many felt he lost. So erm...no. Plus TC has looked worlds apart from Thurman in winning his fights while one time looks less and less imrpessive each time.
That's a good question.
That's a good question to pose to the guys at Ring magazine, ESPN, Boxing experts, analysts, officials. Because I couldn't tell you the exact reason why they rank Crawford higher.
better resume, better performances. why wouldn't he be ranked higher? because you like him more isnt really the best reason
Reasons is simple. He completely ridicules his higher level opponents. Let's not forget that Garcia ducked Postol and went life and death against everybody he went against.
And I heard you say Thurman was "very skilled". What skills are you talking about exactly?
Thurman should be ranked higher than Rigondeaux and Crawford.
I think Crawford has been ranked higher because his performances have been more spectacular which is how the name "run time" came to be.
Crawford is head and shoulders above Thurman in all aspects of boxing, if you can't see this, watch another sport.
