For the people that will come up with excuses about Canelo being green or the catchweight nobody for the most part cares whether true or not.
Just like nobody cares that Pacquiao beat a Cotto post Margarito beatdown, after arguably losing to Clottey with a slight beating along the way, the catchweight, and having that clown of a trainer instead of his uncle.
Same way that nobody cares that Salvador Sanchez beat Wilfredo Gomez at a weight that he was never really the monster he was at. Also supposedly Wilfredo basically never really trained for that fight.
Nobody also cares Buster Douglas beat a non training, party animal, and drug using Tyson. All people remember is that Tyson got his ass beatdown by a supposed bum.
History will remember that Mayweather gave a boxing lesson to one of the greats of that era and for this reason as much as I dont like Canelo im rooting for him cause Mayweather is my favorite fighter lol
Dont act like some of you guys dont also have these type of situations when your favorite athlete or team will benefit from the athlete or team you dont like wins. :boxing:
Any of you dudes in the same boat though?
I guess being a crack dealer can mean you are self employed. But that career will catch up to you and you will be punching out car licence plates evenually.
What you are going to say you are white now and claim your parents been together for 25 years? GTFOH I know the truth because if you truly had parents together 25 years and a dad in your life you'd know what it is to be a man and how to stand by your beliefs.
Now go back to that street corner and pedal that crack.
Soon as you get back into that yellow bus you escaped from.
Your victory over someone only matters as it pertains to what they were like at the time that you beat them. It's been four years since he fought Canelo -That's a lot of time for a fighter to improve. Granted, I don't think the result would probably be any different today, but still.
It could make Mayweather's win look better if Canelo wins, since he put on a clinic in their fight.
Or if GGG puts Canelo's lights out, it could take the shine off Mayweather's win as Canelo was a clearly better, more experienced fighter in this, his other massive test.
Or, it could do none of the above. Since Golovkin and Mayweather are two different fighters, who didn't cross paths with each other and never will. while each having their own separate careers.
Different fighters, different divisions, different years. 4 years is a long time in boxing.
It's not who you beat, but when you beat them.
Floyd always beat at at a time convenient to him.
Beat bug names at the end of their career ie dlh and SSM and PAC not far removed from being ng koed or fight them when they're green
Depends who you ask.
Floyd fans will say it's a great win and continues to get better.
Those who dislike Floyd will still say Canelo was green and also drained, despite his team fight suggesting 152 and the day before the fight still saying it suits him more, he will be quicker etc..
At the end of the day when it's all said and done, Floyd wasn't in his prime either, he was in his mid-late 30's, naturally the much smaller man and still schooled Canelo. He'll always have that W on his record over Canelo and that's what people will see in the future.
What they suppose to say before the fight? 152 was a huge mistake. But they were desperate for the fight.
At the time it was one of the biggest risk in Floyd's career. Canelo came to box a master boxer and then it turned into that he was too young, unexperienced, etc.
It's not who you beat, but when you beat them.
Mayweather beat him after 40 plus pro fights....unified champion and undefeated
i dont look into the catchweight too much considering canelo was 153 vs trout and had a good training camp and nutrition to make 152 fine...also didnt look depleted in the fight, simply got outclassed.
pretty much as good as it gets.
Its not BS.
Even Max Kellerman has said that Canelo would still get a boxing lesson.
That Cotto win is huge for Pacquiao yet nobody gives a **** that Cotto went thru two beatdowns from Clottey and a worse one from Margarito before the Pacquiao fight. Also the catchweight and had that clown of a trainer. Only wins he got was that controversial win vs Clottey and Yuri Foreman where his knee gave out after like 4 rounds.
Thats just like how it is.
Nobody cares that Stephen Curry beat a depleted Cavs in 2015.
Nobody cares Kobe beat a past prime Celtics Big 3 in 2010, nobody cares Magic beat an injured Isiah Thomas in 1988.
It is what it is.
great friggin post
It would look good.
On the other hand, if GGG upstages Floyd against a more prime and experienced Canelo, does it take the shine off of (arguably) Floyd's best win?
Look at who is talking about female behavior, mfer you were raised by a single ghetto black mom. So you wouldn't know what being a man is or what it means to stand by your belief.
Now go get a job where hopefully your white boss will show you pitty and teach you how to be a man.
Now skoot along little doggy.
First of all, I'm self employed, secondly, my parents been married for twenty five years now.
Clearly you have a number of complexes, with inferiority complex at or near the top of the pile. You probably need about five therapists to treat your condition.
I wish I could help you but this desperate cry for help of yours is wasted on me, unfortunately I'm not a psychiatrist or psychologist.
Hopefully you find some help though, everyone deserves the best health care services, even you.
Nonsensical, dude you have no clue what it is to be a man. If you have a belief system then you stick by it.
Dont be a dumb fuk. Floyd did say he doesn't need catchweights and when he fights someone he wants them at their ultimate best. If he truly meant those words, then when Canelo said he'd fight Floyd at 151lbs to make the fight, Floyd if he was a man of his beliefs would have told Canelo no need for a catchweight I want you at your best. But no he agreed to put Canelo at a unfavorable disadvantage.
Anyways I wouldnt expect you to know what standing by your belief or being a man is. You a black dude and were raised without a dad to teach you that.
As far as Canelo and Floyd fighting again. I wouldnt put that as a forgone conclusion that Floyd would win. Next time around it would be an older Floyd and the fight would be at 160.
All I'm hearing are the wails of an insecure manboy. Lol, throwing insults about things that are totally irrelevant to the topic of discussion? That's just typical female behavior, I wouldn't expect something like that from 'a man with a strong belief system'.
Every letter you type is exposing you for the fraud that you are, if I were you I would stop before I reveal anymore embarassing character traits.
Using the OPs logic, if Canelo loses, then that should tarnish Mayweather's record even further because he obviously beat an overrated hype-job OR it makes GGG just as "great" because he beat an even better version of Canelo. While he's at it, the OP should also give credit to Calzaghe for all of Hopkins and Jones prior wins.
Floyd was the one who said "I don't drain any fighter, when I fight someone I want them at the optimum best weight". Even though he said that it was all bs.
Yes Canelo said he'd fight Floyd at 151 but it was because he knew that's the only way to convince Floyd to fight. He was willing to put himself at risk to fight him, he paid the price for it but he did what he had to do to convince Floyd to fight.
If Floyd was a man of his words and belief, he would have told Canelo no knew for a catchweight i want you at your ultimate best weight. But no he agreed to put alllow Canelo to put himself at a disadvantage and because of that, the victory doesn't carry as much luster to it.
Oh well
Tell me this if Canelo beats ggg and the somehow Floyd finds his balls and give Canelo a rematch, would you give Canelo maximum credit if he beat floyd or would you be someone who said he beat a past prime Floyd and a weight disadvantaged fighter as he fought past he normal weight limit.
Everything you said prior is nonsensical, but I'll answer your question the best way I can.
No I wouldn't make those excuses coz I know Canelo aint winning shieeet! 41 year old Floyd would still box his ears off.
Ps. Only a troll would blame a guy for 'being offered' a catchweight, only a troll would suck the 'he wouldn't have fought Canelo otherwise' excuse literally out on THIN AIR. You have absolutely no proof of that, it literally comes out of your own imagination.
But I remember many were asking PAC to rematch cotton at 154 or was it 147 and PAC was criticised probably by Floyd fans for not.
PACs legacy hasn't grown from cotton beating sergio
I have no idea who asked for a rematch of that fight or why you just made that comparison...it is like all the stupid sh1t ya'll post is stuck on this Manny-Floyd sh1t that was finished in the ring..LET IT GO MAN
he already dominated him man
But I remember many were asking PAC to rematch cotton at 154 or was it 147 and PAC was criticised probably by Floyd fans for not.
PACs legacy hasn't grown from cotton beating sergio
The guy almost ran over a cop, so when he crashed they beat his unconscious body.
Oh I see. Only right they were fired. He could have been dead already
Canelo had been weighing in at 153, so that 152 was meaningless physically and was just a psychological ploy. Also, although young, Canelo already had over 40 fights without a loss and had several good wins. The Canelo Mayweather beat had a better resume than GGG currently has. And wen was Floyd supposed to fight Canelo? Was he supposed to wait? Wait while he himself got older and older?
And yeah, Canelo winning will mean something for Floyd's resume. It will mean he beat the best of the era after his own.
I'll keep it simple for you.
When Floyd fought Maidana who he hardly truly beat in there first meeting, Maidana even had an argument he won it.
Going into the fight..
Maidana was a 15-1 underdog to Floyd, and I said this before, "if floyd wins. These floydiots will go nuts and praise him like a god for winning a fight with slow quick sand feet Maidana"
Now this 15-1 underdog is bigger than what he is supposed to be just because Floyd had a hard time, when the truth is Maidana is only a B class fighter who gave Floyd fits.
Today, sorry to bust you bubble. Canelo that Floyd fought is far from the Canelo of today.
In a simple analogy, Canelo that floyd fought was a puppy with a Green belt, the Canelo of today is a full grown dog with a 7 dan belt it Karate terms.
If Floyd wants to prove he really beat a prime Canelo. Then he has to prove it. Floyd just knows when it's time to cherry pick an opponent who is too green to be picked yet. Lucky him, he knows how to cherry pick at the right time.
The present version of Canelo, is a full grown dog, and will easily beat his ass to a pulp.
