I forgot which article on here it was, but it said something about N'Dam fighting for the vacant regular belt which was just "unified" by Golovkin and Jacobs. I thought the WBA were trying to get rid of all the extra belts in the division and I thought that was what the GGG vs Jacobs fight was supposed to do. Unify the "Super" with the "Regular" so that only one would exist from here on out. Anybody know anything else about this?
In divisions with three WBA champions, the WBA is getting rid of the interim titles first and then getting rid of the super titles.
So when GGG & Jacobs fought, the interim champion was upgraded to world champion. Eventually GGG will fight the world champion and the WBA will have one middleweight champion.
Jacobs was never INTERIM champ..
That is not how it actually happens, when the WBA Super and Regular “Unify” the Regular title becomes Vacant again, just how when FMWJ “Unified” with Canelo, Floyd remained the WBA Super and the belt was immediately up for grabs and that is how Lara and Angulo Fought for the “Vacant”.

It’s all B.S, the WBA Regular should not be considered a proper world championship, it was made by the WBA to keep charging premiums to it’s holders, it’s a disgrace how it becomes vacant when someone like GGG is really trying to unify them all?
But that is how GGG got all of his title defenses
N'Dam is basically in position to be the next mandatory challenger to Golovkin, were that to come due; I doubt that the "regular" title ends up ever being used again, so now we have a little bit of time until the "interim" belt is no longer used either.
