before he ran into DLH...i saw him at the Forum once in 93...i thought he was a beast
The Oscar fight was at 135 a weight he didn't belong firstly.
Secondly he came back and showed better boxing skill than I'd seen him. Looked really good against Famoso.
Peak physically? No maybe not but skillwise and experience wise I'd say yes IMO.
Similarly that Barrera was in 2003.
bro, that was Genaro's (RIP) very last fight...you consider 33yr old, shopworn Hernandez prime?
Right but why was it his last fight?
32 year old version, and I'd never seen him better. When do you think he was better?
Canelo wasn't prime and really? the best name on his resume is Castillo and Hatton?
Eh, pretty close.
Nope, didn't say that.
You said he doesn't have any prime HOF'ers on his resume but chances are that won't be the case. At the very least one of the listed will get in but realistically probably more than one will.
I mean, if Barrera is considered prime vs Pacquaio then it's at least arguable that Chicanito was prime when Floyd beat him. And he's already a HOF'er.
Floyd hype his fight before the fight telling all the fans that the fight will be a war and exciting but during the fight all he's doing is to run and hug inside the ring. :lol1: that's the true hype job boxer.
Its a shame that this has to be explained to people Kev. That said, great response.
Even if it's explained it doesn't matter, they will bypass the age factor in all this. I would like to see Lomachenko fight Flanagan and Linares before losing to Mikey, I think those are two easy fights for him. I like watching him fight, but he has his limitations. It's not only Salido who will beat him. If size is really a big issue for him, then Salido will not be his lone loss. To be as great as 'overrated hype job' Floyd was, he's gonna have to get used to being in a 10-17lb disadvantage every single fight for the rest of his career.
The reason people aren't brining up Pac, Jones, Leonard or other ATG fighter's 9th fight is because it isn't their fans who are bashing Loma, it's by and large Floyd fans. It's Floyd fans who are totally dismissing him.
This isn't nitpicking this is merely making an observation of what you wrote. If you are going to write it, then own it. No need to make excuses for Floyd's age or Loma's late start. Let's see what happens if Loma fights a guy in his 24th fight with a record of 22-16-4...watch the hate spill out all over the twitterverse. Double standards man.
This is totally false, couldn't be further from the truth. You're being dishonest.
Fans started saying Lomachenko is already greater than Floyd, out of the blue, just for sh*ts and giggles. Floyd fans disagreed. That's when it started.
Don't come lying your ass off about what happened. Talking about Floyd fans are dissing Lomachenko. You mean they disagreed with those who were saying Lomachenko is better than him. Stop creating some silly narrative of Floyd fans vs Lomachenko.
That's not an "excuse", that's the truth. There's no excuse in saying Lomachenko is 29 in his 9th fight and Floyd was 20 in his 9th fight.
You're nitpicking what I said. Why quote "they think are great" as a negative? Lol, that's lame as hell.
And yeah, you're right, but Floyd started younger, so it doesn't matter. Floyd in his 9th fight was 20 years old, Lomachenko is almost a decade older at 29 years old in his 9th fight. So yea of course Lomachenko will have a sense of urgency to skip the introductory classes via testing-out and go straight to intermediate one's.
Everyone seems to be singling out Floyd's resume when bringing up Lomachenko. I don't see anyone bringing up Pacquiao's 9th fight, or Jones' 9th fight, or Hopkins' 9th fight, or Leonard's 9th fight, or Sugar Ray Robinson's 9th fight, or Ali's 9th fight. It's only Floyd's 9th fight, it's only when did Floyd get his title, no one else because measuring revolves around Floyd...we don't think he's the GOAT, his critics come off like he is :lol1:

i can't think of anyone who is more hype job than floyd mayweather jr. all he did was to run and hug inside the ring. even his opponent beat him in the punch and everything he still win the decision with the help of ref and judges.
"They think are great"? Loma has already won titles in two weight classes with only 9 fights. Floyd fought a guy with a 1-13-1 record for his 9th fight. Loma's greatness only goes up from here.

Floyd is the best fighter in the last 25 years, his resume will be picked apart and dissected, that's a given. He will also be used as a measuring stick for fighters they think who are great (i.e. Lomachenko).

Hatton? Castillo? Corrales? Canelo?
All very possible future HOF'ers.

Read this thread if you wanna see how 99% of people on a boxing forum DKSAB... Manny and Floyd are hype jobs? Lol, you ignorant fks...
Crazy huh? Its either trolling or its the Floyd groupies or the Manny groupies just doing the usual hate for the other.
Both ATG but hey... They hypejobs... Only on NSB...
Gary Russell
he had HBO televising his 8rd TBA matches
but the biggest has to be Floyd..the guy has zero hall of fame fighters in their prime on his resume and his fans think he's the GOAT
Hatton? Castillo? Corrales? Canelo?
All very possible future HOF'ers.
Clearly.
All he's done is won an olympic gold medal and a world title within like 15 fights.
i literally cant think of anyone worse
Not an atg hypejob but Parker is quite a hypejob. He barely scrape through mexican sumo wrestler Andy Ruiz but is now a champ. He is just average. I wouldn't put him past other average heavyweights like Chisora or Whyte.
Pretty f'ed up to think that Tua wasn't a champ but Parker is. Tua would've knock Parker out in his prime.
Clearly.

Looks nice on paper but he was gifted the Gold and he's one hell of a paper "Champion".
cotto was damaged goods after margarito fight, barrera had just came out of getting his a$$ whupped by marquez in the rematch with pacquiao,,and those fights with marquez are questionable until marquez put him to sleep to end all doubt
nope. cotto was in the middle of his career. he went onto win a LMW strap and the middleweight strap.
he was definitely prime.
Marquez lost the first fight due to Judge's error. fact.
Marquez lost the 2nd fight. Fact
Marquez lost the 3rd fight. Fact
deal with it.
