And i will tell you why..Canelo will come straight forward and he does not have the reach nor the defensive skills to evade Chavez and Chavez's chin is go enough to eat Canelos shots..Canelo will gas after 7 and will be stopped by 9 or 10 after winning most rounds...
Larry what is going on, you called Broner fighter of the decade back when he was eating twinkies and now you called this? but to be fair Chavez didn't come to fight and no one could have predicted how bad he would be.
What is your prediction on GGG vs. Canelo? I need your opinion so I can do the opposite and win some money.
Another good name, right? :lol1:
"Canelo has improved." Yet he looked like the exact same fighter vs Lara as he did when he fought Trout and Mayweather.
I'd say he looked better in those fights, but Floyd was better than both of those guys, so that's only to be expected.
Must I also mention the almost great Matthew Hatton? :loser:

No I think you are being condescending, Canelo definitely looked a better fighter against Lara, his technique was tighter, defence was better, and generally he looked a level up against a fighter who is probably a level above Trout. They were both close fights of course, but Canelo was improved against Lara and is for sure a better fighter now.
I think most people can see that - obviously he has a weakness around back foot boxers and that will probably always be there, stylistically he hasn't fought a fighter of that ilk since, although Cotto fought in that sort of a style, and even against a faded version, Cotto was a great win.
His level of competition has been good, it doesn't mean that because you have a weakness around a certain style that you need to fight that style every other fight to prove something. I thought the fact that he fought a prime Lara when he was young and already had had a setback against Floyd was admirable, and showed he is not afraid of a challenge.
He took Kirklands soul too... Another name on the list.

I like how you conveniently leave Kirkland out and your best argument for Liam Smith is "undefeated."
Yea, Canelo is visually improving since Floyd.

Canelo has Top 10 active boxing resumes. To say otherwise means you don't know wtf you're going on about...
Cotto, Lara, Trout (undefeated version), Angulo (people on this forum voted 50/50 beforehand), JCC, Kirkland, Khan, undefeated Smith, Mosley, etc.
His lone loss was a boxing lesson and he looks sharper and more durable every time out in the ring.

you see? do you see why is impossible to take anything you post in this place seriously?
who said you had to?? all i do is post OPINIONS!!! but the difference with me and others is i can accept when i am wrong
LOL
Is this why this mug was 'out of town' post fight for the whole weekend?
no?? cause i was out of town with my son in AAU state...i dont duck and dodge
Calling them trash is really not a term I can agree to. There are good names, Angulo and Chaves being the worst, Cotto and Khan being the best wins. Liam Smith was undefeated, Lara fight was a very controversial one.
Maybe the improvements are not so visible, due to the fact that Floyd Floyd'd him, but he's proven time and time again that he is a sound boxer, unless the menace he is facing is on that highest level of pure boxing. I thought he proved a lot in the fight against Cotto.
He was only 22 when he faced FM.

I go back and forth honestly. They both have great skill, they both hit hard, they both have a quality jab and they both can take a punch. To me it all depends on if Canelo can take GGGs punch and if he can effectively counter his jab because GGG can win a fight on it alone. If he can he will win a decision. If not, he gets starched.
Me too, and the closer the fight will get and the more we will see their attitudes, everything might change. I just don't see the KO coming right now, as you mention the jab-fight will be essential in this fight, if no KO is to come. People are not really talking about the size difference, so I guess there's not really anything significant there. It goes the distance in a close fight, and they will give it to the marketable fighter. We know who that is. Longevity is vital here.
Who wins the battle of the jab then? My pick is Canelo, somehow relatable to his jab-pull counter, but both men got mouthwatering jabs and we know that GGG will bring sundaypunches in bunches, so if it somehow becomes a battle of ego, it's hard to see GGG lose to anyone. Canelo is a very proud man, so I can see him get sucked into a slug'em fight once in a while - Which I would probably not recommend if the fight was close.
How is he improving since the Floyd loss? His opponents are trash. So how can you actually say he is improving?
Where was the improvement vs Lara? The kid couldn't even cut the ring off.

That excactly how I see it! He is really improving visually a lot since Floyd. Who you got, SA vs. GGG and how?
Many people got totally owned in this thread by believing in Chavez purely because of size.

I think, most of all, you underestimated Nelo's skill. I've genuinely seen him get better and incorporate more skills and tricks into his repertoire. He's a young veteran in the game
Honestly I think it's because he's Mexican. We have this idea of the Mexican fighter stereotype a guy who just comes forward and brawls, slow, and will eat punches on the way in to take you out. Canelo doesn't fight like any Mexican I ever seen. If he were black we would all label him "slick". His defense, head movement, hand speed, counterpunching, ect literally get's better every time out. And he's ONLY 26 he hasn't even peaked yet.
His skills are underrated he is playing chess in the ring, setting traps, adapting fight to fight based on what the opponent tries to do. He fights like an old vet who's seen it all very calm and you keep forgetting he is ONLY 26.
I think most of us didn't expect the weight cut to be as damaging, nothing else can explain that lacklustre performance, we've never seen Chavez Jr throw as little punches.
I think It was on some of our minds but Chavez still looked so healthy, maybe he needed more time.
Oh FFS...no explanation needed. Chavez Jr is pure crap you fool...that's all.
