This would be one for the ages. I think I am going with Mayweather. The combination of defense, speed, power and ring IQ would cause many issues for Loma.
On the other hand, Loma presents a challenge Mayweather very well might not have faced before-- a highly skilled, well conditioned fighter with a ring IQ to match. However, Mayweather's craftiness may befuddle and frustrate Loma the way Salido did.
How y'all see this one playing out?
Seriously Loma may be this generation's greatest fighter. Why can't this generation have a better fighter than the last generation? Most people rank Loma 1st pfp over Andre Ward and everyone else. Loma's amateur record of 398 wins and 1 loss with 2 gold medals beats the hell out of Mayweather's amateur record of 84 wins and 8 losses with 1 bronze medal. Mayweather won his first world title after 18 fights and 2 years as a pro. Loma won his first world title in his 3rd fight after only a year as a pro. Loma is number 1 pfp at 130 today. I don't think Mayweather was ever pfp number 1 at 130. It's a legit question who would have won a fight between the two of them at 130. The proof of that is so many posters think Loma would have defeated Mayweather, my self included.
Lomachenko isn't rated P4P number 1 by the ring, ESPN or TBRB so who is "most people"?? ......also I think you need to go back and look at the P4P list when Mayweather was at 130, him not being number 1 was more to do with who else was around at that time and why they had achieved.
Russell was coming off a long lay off I believe. This is why he's chasing down a rematch. Besides, that I think he underestimated Loma, and end up fighting a stupid fight.
When isn't Russell coming off a long layoff? This might all be true but in my opinion, Russell is a damn good fighter so completely dominating him is something special.
Floyd Mayweather would be too fast, and strong at the weight for Lomachenko! from a technical perspective, they are quite even but athletically? Mayweather would just be too much at 130 pounds for Lomachenko! I don't really think there are any fighters at 130-135 with serious punching power ether! Mayweather if he really wanted to could just bull forward against Lomachenko, and dismantle him!
There is a reason why Lomachenko won't fight at 140+, because as a athlete he lacks the physical strength and durability to move up through the weights like Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao!
If the only time I ever saw Loma fight was the Salido fight I would pick Mayweather in a one sided fight. After watching Loma's last few fights I would pick him to beat Mayweather. I think Loma would slaughter Salido in a rematch. Would a 130 pound Mayweather beat Martinez and Walters as easily as Loma beat them? I doubt it. The Loma of today is as fast and tricky and hard to hit as Mayweather was. He throws many more punches and punches a bit harder than Mayweather. I think it's a very close fight but I think the Loma I saw last night might beat Mayweather. Give Loma a few more pro fights and he might get even better than he is now.
Mayweather had more power than Loma at 130. Loma won't be throwing a lot of punches against Mayweather, as it will be a chess - match. Mayweather would have forced him to think before he throws.
Corrales was better than Walters and Manfredy and Genaro Hernandez were better than Martinez.
So in your book completely outclassing Gary Russell Jr is nothing special?

Seriously? You're asking if someone with 9 fights can beat the greatest fighter of his generation at one of his great weights? Really *****?
Despite that you have to believe, as a boxing fan, both of them matching up at 130 prime would be intriguing. Wouldn't you think?
But he never fought anybody as slick as Loma. We saw what happened when a monster puncher in Axeman tried to take him on.[/QUOTE
You didn't just compare Walters to Mayweather? Yes, Mayweather fought Emmanuel "drunken master" Augustus.

Floyd more power. That would be the difference.

Augustus was tough, a nice test. He was not an easy KO, only has 5 in his career 34 losses. If you look at his last fights vs Provodnikov, Omotoso who stopped him, not even those were exactly easy early round stoppages and he was beyond shot to bits at that point. He was the first fighter to give Floyd a bloody nose for a reason. Floyd needed to stop him to really make a statement, it was a tough guy to get out of there but he really had to do it.
If it's prime for prime then it would have to be the Floyd that was 27-0 with 22 KO's, this was Floyd's record at 130lbs. Versus Lomachenko 8-1 with 6 KO's.
Floyd was taller/rangier, but they would be the same weight on fight night since Floyd would come in at around 134lbs. Floyd would have a 2 inch height advantage, and a substantial 7 inch reach advantage (that jab doe).
People say dumb **** on here. Like really silly. Floyd had a 90% ko for a long while. He devastated the division and was probably faster, def stronger, longer, better defensively, I could go on. For someone who legit says loma would win, why?
It's hard to pick against Floyd at 130 lbs but it would be much tougher than any fight he had at that weight. Both of these guys are masters at punching off the pivots, it would be a great sight to see these two share the ring.

Back then floyd's hand and foot speed were every bit as good as lomachenko's and he has a reach advantage to go with it. The fact that loma is a southpaw makes it interesting tho. It's really a tough fight to call, but it would most likely be a chess match with low output from both guys.
At 22 years old Floyd was putting on better performances at 130 against Genera, Augustus, and Chico (top 5 p4p at the time). Lomachenko is 27 and Sosa isn't better than any of those fighters. Lomachenko looks the part but Floyd was on a whole different level at 130-135
