all the experts on here said it was going to happen. well what happened? it was a good old fashioned grudge match should have been easy enough to make. did pbc screw up again? I was looking forward to these two punching bags go at it.
Last i heard ortiz beat up some dude at a country music show...and rios got nailed by some dude at a house party...sounds like they are both main event ready.lol two shot fighters going at it. loser retires winner gets sacrificed to a young hungry lion. :boxing:

Who cares. You can get 2 middle schoolers off of your block and have them fight and they'll do better than that fight. I guarantee 1 wont quit like Ortiz and the other will move his head away from a punch at least once unlike Rios. Wack a$$ fight.
tell that to the people here who went nuts about a potential fight once word went around that the fight had a chance of happening
Same guys think canelo is the best thing since sliced bred
Why would anyone even care is my questiontell that to the people here who went nuts about a potential fight once word went around that the fight had a chance of happening

your a fucking clown, here you say why not let them (rios and otiz) get more brain damage but in the other thread you was talking shit about "haven't rios lost enough brain cells" opposed to rios getting a fight with cotto lmfao.

my reply to that guy was a joke you autistic fuk . ortiz is a better fight for rios its a fight he actually has chance of winning.
Rios may get a fight with Cotto and that will make lots more money than a grudge match with Ortiz. He will get KOed of course but he will wake up much richer.that's just a rumor. I read on here rios already has a fight coming up and its not cotto

I bet if this was Danny Garcia looking for another cherrypick , Haymon would get either Rios, or Ortiz paid 500k to be Garcia's next cherrypick.
But they wouldn't pay Rios and Ortiz each that much, despite it being a 50/50 fight, and with a storyline that makes for extra drama.yup no doubt it. we know how hymie gets down. all about serving up
them cherries.
when was the last time that Victor Ortiz was in a boxing gym

The matchup is a grudge match (which would mean alot for folks with rooting interests in the fight), but a win doesn't really do anything to advance either guy.
You add that both guys are going to want to get paid for the fight (Rios got $800k on his last fight, while Victor Ortiz got $750k), and it seems like everything is down to finding a place to put the event.
Hopefully both guys stay in the gym; that way, when PBC brings another big show to California (thinking one of the ESPN dates), Haymon/TGB will have a name fight to top one of those bills with.
With Brandon Rios now apparently being an option for a June date with Miguel Cotto, the calculus changes a bit
