We all knew up to the fight that Ward was not the same fighter that he used to be. Everyone mentioned that all the time and it was obvious from his recent fights following his long break from the sport. His reflexes were just not the same as they used to be. He managed to beat Kovalev in a tough fight, though. How would this fight have gone if Ward was still in his prime? IMO, if the Super Six Ward were to move up and fight Kovalev after 1-2 tuneups, then I think Ward would win every round.
you dont win fights by getting off the canvas. shows how you score. kovalev landed all the telling punches and landed more. easy win. just watch this blind man.
No need.
I watched the fight itself.
Several times.
And no math gets Kovalev the victory if you score EACH round.
Ward beat him. And IMO will do so easier in a rematch.
But, no taking away from Sergei. He is 1B to Wards 1A.
And if they fight again and Kovalev wins, I will be just as good with it.
Krusher is all that.
Keep whining, white boy. This is how it's going down:
Crawford defeated Postol. Bradley defeated Provodnikov. Mayweather defeated Pacquiao. Ward defeated Kovalev. Jacobs defeated Golovkin.
And the pattern is gonna continue, so sit your pink a$$ down and STFU. Stupid racist, always overrating the white fighters.
Isn't this post ironic, you accuse someone of being racist after you wrote those racist remarks towards white people smfh

Jacobs still has that L on his record,so he didn't defeat anyone.
when did he beat him? im talking reality. not terrible biased scorecards. round 10 to ward? gtfo that round wasnt even close. ward was an overatted fighter. deal with it. the super six was setup in his favor and the guys he fought were slow one dimensional fighters. he got in with a good boxer and was utterly schooled and didnt clearly win a round and they gifted him the fight. prime ward is a figment of your imagination. first time he stepped up he lost.

I think Ward is fine.
He got caught a good shot by the 2nd best P4P fighter in the world.
No shame in that.
And props to him for getting off the canvas and winning a close fight...and yes, he did beat Kovalev.

He already beat him. If he was in his prime, there would have been no lucky knockdowns from Kovalev.
LOL at people now suddenly denying that Ward was past his prime for the fight. Everyone knew it, but now, they suddenly forgot. So pathetic ...

man this site is full of excuse makers..
Excuse? Who needs an excuse? Ward already won. The question now is just how easily he would have won if he was still in his prime.

he never could beat kovalev. stylistically kovalev will always jab him to death.

He was a lighter in his prime. So if the extra weight didn't affect him and no long layoff he'd win. Lost this one though..
