After six rounds, I had Roman up 58-54 with the point deduction. Roman was simply landing better and cleaner combinations and counters and he was slipping and rolling with a lot of Sri's shots. That's just what was happening. At the end of the fight, Roman landed 150+ more punches than Sri all told--which is pretty telling.
1 - 10-8 Sri
2 - 10-9 Roman
3 - 10-9 Roman
4 - 10-9 Roman
5 - 10-9 Roman
6 - 10-8 Roman (point deduction)
7 - 10-9 Sri
8 - 10-9 Roman
9 - 10-10 EVEN --this round was really even in my eyes
10 - 10-9 Roman--Roman's cleaner punching won it
11 - 10-9 Sri
12 - 10-9 Roman
For final scores of 116-111 Roman
Roman won eight rounds in my eyes
Sri won three
With one round being scored even--the 9th.
Roman wasn't really bullied in this fight and he's the one who was actually pushing Sri back at times and in my estimations, he had Sri hurt a couple of times in the fight and had him going backwards. Sri was the stronger guy when they were in-fighting but Roman landed better and cleaner blows when they were in-fighting.
I can see a 115-112 scorecard for Roman but I can't really see anything less than that for the champ. Sri was literally running away from Roman at times in the 12th and was purposely holding--that is not how you beat the champ. The judging was quite simply incompetent as Roman clearly landed the cleaner and more telling blows throughout the fight.
After watching it in HD, it is clear to see that Roman won the fight.
I don't think there's any doubts he won but since the Floyd groupies/GGG haters can't stop talking about GGG being a hype job or bum this fight is not even being talked about. This was bad judging, worse than Ward-Kovalev and GGG-Jacobs by far.
I started a thread on it for this very reason. Certain people on here like to distate the agenda but the only controversial decision was RG v Thailand not the main event.
I had it 8-4 for Roman.
I need to rewatch and score it as well.
I remember the Thai guy pressure Roman but Roman would explode for 30-45 seconds.
Some would give it to Roman for stealing the round but others will say the Thai guy outworked him for most of the round.
Gonzalez got robbed! When I first watched the fight I thought it was close and back and forth, but this was in a bar with people around. Rewatching it again by myself, this was a total joke of a decision.
Pretty much where I'm at with it. I wonder, with the odds being so heavy in Roman's favor, if some people didn't make A LOT of money betting against Roman in this one. It makes me wonder because Roman was a 10-1 favorite. Boxing is shady as fuq.

I was surprised because I was so certain Roman G won the fight.
I need to rewatch it, I literally felt Roman G was the cleaner of the two and blocked most of Rung's shots. Heck, the dude ran away two rounds, IMO.
Sadly, HBO nixed that YT fight I posted for copyright infringement. lol
Watch it in HD. Much easier to score it that way.

Yeah he started off terrible, looked slow and like he couldn't get off but he came alive and hurt that guy numerous times but he's just too small at that weight, he can't put these guys down and out. It stinks that he lost his undefeated record on a robbery. He's been in some tough fights the last 2, I'm. It sure he has many left in him.
I would just like to say that, IMO, it is the gloves. Gonzalez has worn Everlast gloves since he's moved up into this weight class and I don't know if it's because they are paying or sponsoring him, but, Everlast gloves SUCK for inflicting damage upon your opponent's face. Nobody is really talking about this though but it IS in fact a reason he's not doing more damage to these bigger guys.
Look at his fight with Yaegashi--he's wearing Winning gloves and Yaegashi is clearly the bigger man in the fight and Roman tore his face up. I still think Roman is winning these fights but the Everlast gloves are hurting him in the ring more than the Everlast money is helping him outside of the ring.
This was awful. Degale/Jack, Ward/Kovalev, Jacobs/Golovkin controversies are nothing close to that robbery. Chocolatito came back from a terrible start to that fight and showed he is a true warrior last night.
