A lot of people are saying GGG is going to come out to box like vs Lemiux. This will not happen. Cus Jacobs is taller, rangier and faster fighting in his hometown. This is very important..... why? because if Jacobs just decides to circle on the outside and GGG decides to box too in a round where 10 punches are landed.
Jacobs will win that round. Hometown decision is real.
So Jacobs' game plan is 100% going to be waiting on Golovkin to come find him. This is very dangerous for GGG because Jacobs is faster on the trigger and he has legit KO power. GGG comes in and he will have to open up initiating the action. GGG has never even been dropped before.... if he gets caught cold. Bad news.
This is a very very dangerous fight.
There is 0 chance he's going to be able to box like vs Lemiuex fight. Mark my words. This will be shoot out. This is the only way GGG can win. To me this is a 50/50 fight.
I like Danny a real gentleman of the sport but lets be real here he is being built up to be what he is not and his resume is weak and he has been knocked out because he is there to be hit he is actually open to being hit because he holds his head up on a pole with little movement when he flurries, any other era he couldn't win a title and the irony is GGG is supposed to be the best MW in history.
What is going on is a simple fan formula of make the win bigger by pumping up the opponent.
Agree. Jacobs has improved since the Pirog fight. He looked mediocre and was dropped in Mora I but looked better in Mora II. Golovkin has never been down and has pretty much devastated every opponent he's faced. Do the math and then twist it anyway you can but.......the way it will go is that if Danny doesn't catch Golovkin early and actually hurt him it will be business as usual for Golovkin. Business as usual is hunting Jacobs down, cutting the ring off and delivering a beat down until it's stopped or he knocks Jacobs out. Just sayin....don't hate the messenger.
it's not about who Danny has fought. It's about stylistic match-ups and the probable outcomes.
Who did Manny Pacquiao beat when he KOed Barrera? Who did Corrie Sanders beat when he fought Vlad? Who did Oliver McCall beat when he 1 punched Lennox? etc etc
We have to stick to the facts that are relevant to this fight.
Jacobs A+ KO power.
Jacobs is faster.
Those 2 facts alone means he has a shot in any fight. Period. End of.
Now let's break down styles..... the people saying Jacobs will get outboxed are dreaming. This is not happening. Jacobs was up like 4 rounds to 1 in the Pirog fight lmao. There is no way Jacobs is getting outboxed in his hometown. Take that out of the equation.
So what does that mean? GGG will have to walk forward and into the counters of a fighter who is younger, faster with A+ KO power.
You do the math.
This is not rocket science.
The books pricing on this fight is way off from reality.

Another advantage Pirog had over Jacobs was his length. Jacobs was never able to get the right distance because of Pirog's long arms. If Jacobs chin can hold up then this will be a close fight. Jacobs has to stay off the ropes. If he gets pushed to ropes Golovkin will go to work on his body. In reality Golovkin will have more ways to win than Jacobs. At the same time Jacobs can crack so it will be real interesting to see how Golovkin reacts the first time he gets hit flush.
what a joke the real issueis what happens to Jacobs when he gets hit

If this isn't the number one key to victory besides not getting hit by Golovkin.....I don't what is. I would love to see Jacobs box, sit down on a few punches and then get out. Soon as he feels his back against the ropes......move. Sadly, I feel Jacobs is going to end up on the ropes either way. Be it Golovkin putting him there or Jacobs going voluntarily.

just LMAO if you don't think Ali and Foreman were juiced out they minds.
look up when roids were invented. there was no drug testing back then either.
It wouldn't surprise me, but that sh*t evolves over time too. Plus, there's so many different types of things that can be considered a PED. So many new substances created in a lab for the soul purpose of making a body perform better. It's not just roids anymore.
i don't hold fighters of the past in high regard just because of sentimentality. modern nutrition, HD film study and modern training techniques have eclipsed the fighters of the past.
the same reason olympic records are broken every new olympics.
modern nutrition my a ss it is the science of PED's
Don't forget about PEDs.

This is no 50/50 fight. There are paths to victory for Jacobs make no mistake, but his chin will be a huge liability in this contest.
Jacobs will either need to put on a masterclass performance, that I'd argue we've never seen from Jacobs or anything close to a masterclass performance, or he'll need to connect to GGG harder &/or more often early before he gets tagged. Personally I see little chance of seeing a decisions here. Someone will be KO'd & the most likely person to be KO'd is Jacobs by a large margin.
Agreed. Nice post. I wouldn't really call this an advantage, but Danny has the utmost confidence in himself. He's heading into this fight a lot more mentally prepared than other triple G opponents. This could be a double-edged sword for other fighters, but I don't think Danny is going to be overconfident to the point where he's reckless.

my dude,
i'm 100% serious. this fight presents a dynamic that we have never seen GGG in yet.
He's going to have to stalk a puncher.
Curtis Stevens didn't have Jacob's speed, length dynamic. So GGG could always reach him before Stevens reached him. However even in that fight GGG got hit plenty with flush counters. GGG said this was his hardest fight. Abel talked about it several times.
That was GGG in his prime. He's older now and he's fighting a guy who hits even harder than Stevens, is taller, rangier, faster and in his backyard.
Remember when Julio Cesar Chavez had to stalk Kostya Tszyu? Has he looked more like a bum in his entire life?
You can really stalk a puncher.
Yah I wasn't referring to you. It is a dangerous fight for ggg and if he wins he's p4p number 1 no questions asked.
the problem with bringing up Pirog is that he's slick as fuq. he looked like a contortionist out there. nothing like GGG
isnt that what i said in my post? jacobs was confused by what he was seeing. ggg is not confusing. if you can reach him you can hit him
GGG is going to have to stalk a puncher. i'm 100% certain this is Jacob's plans.
100% certain. There will be no pumping a jab and box for 8 rounds like GGG did Lemiuex. Jacobs has longer reach and quicker distance coverage than GGG.
Old news. Ouma sparked up Golovkin numerous times but he problem was that Ouma was technically a "small middleweight" at 160 coming from 154...
GGG had an off night. that fight is not the blueprint. still even GGG on an offnight he puts away his opponent.
Toney, Monzon, Mcclellan, hagler etc lost to complete bums on their off nights.
I'm gonna bump your post after the fight. Jacobs won't land much. Mark my words.

:lol1: Laying the groundwork in case GGG loses I see...
Which is it though? apparantly the GGG fans are saying its a dangerous fight (which it is, danny is a legit puncher) because they want the GGG victory to be even greater after he wins
Now it's because they are scared he loses.
:lol1:
