"People" are cheering for this fight to fail financially.
That's where we are now lol
I love GGG but this fight on PPV?? Come on. I think PPV for boxing is in the death throes..
I'm going for Jacobs but I can careless how much this ppv I'm a hardcore boxing fan I don't if it does 1million or 1k I'm heading to the bar dropping my 20 and calling it a night
I'm a hardcore GGG fan and am willing to fork over the money to see it but even I said when it was signed it probably shouldn't be on PPV. I don't think Jacobs is much of a draw at all and GGG is really just a solid HBO draw.
Even though a lot of us hardcore fans are excited I could see why a casual with no emotional attachment would choose to skip it. Might be #1 and #2 but it's also a guy who ko's everyone and a guy people say is chinny. I'm looking forward to it and expect a fun fight but it's not exactly a toss up to most.
I think GGG needed this fight after the mismatches of 2016 (though Kell Brook had some success). Even if they lose money on this fight, which I doubt they will, this will be a good investment because it will open up a lot of big fights for GGG. If he loses, it will set him back a long way, I doubt Canelo or any other top fighters will be looking to fight him then.
hbo can **** off with these ppv lol
Instead, you can tell all the fighters to **** off for unreasonable purse demands, and that goes for every fighter.

LOL, discrediting Jacobs already....nice.
People discrediting Jacobs wold be weird, considering that the boxing community has been hearing GGG fans discredit Jacobs for years themselves already. No need to discredit the guy, GGG fans do that all by themselves, just like they've been doing to Canelo and Ward. Then want to act like GGG is facing a mythical god when the fight gets signed. Wish you all can take back all the "chinny", "Pirog" posts now huh? :lol1:
It's crazy that it's on PPV. While it's a decent match, it has a very clear winner, and it's not only that it has a clear fave, neither guy is really that big of a name to compensate.
Thurman vs Garcia was a good match, with a clear fave, and it was a bonus that it was on CBS, so easily accessible.
GGG-Jacobs fave is even clearer. I don't think this is worth a PPV.
HBO had no choice. They already pay 2 mil for Golovkin fighting bums on regular HBO, they can't afford Jacobs purse aswell.
"DANNY GOTTA GET PADE DOE!"
Team All Talk pulling their crybaby sh*t but they won't buy the ppv and support "their fighter" because they are all talk
I'm realistic, this PPV is gonna bomb hard, and i'm kinda glad about it
PPV should be for megafights, and megafights only
this bull**** trend of making almost every single non-bum fight a PPV needs to stop
I hope it doesn't sell because I'm tired of any quality match up being placed on ppv. Hope this can kill the trend
It most likely won't sell at a number they'd like it to. PPV is what it is. I prefer to not pay but I don't think this sport wants to go away from that. This fight won't kill that trend. Especially if Canelo-Chavez succeeds w/ ppv
I hope this fight sales well because I'm tired of the diva acts by the ginger.. However, if it doesn't.. I can only see that $15 mil offer, or whatever it was, go down the drain.

Not sure about under 90k buys but this PPV will bomb. I'd say it does a little better than the Lemieux fight but not by a great deal.
I also don't think it will do 90k, but the definition of 'bomb' is thrown around by idiots who can't do basic math. Nobody expects this PPV to sell 300k buys based on the purses.
We don't know the purses for the fight, but we can probably project them to be something like 4m/3m since Lemieux fight was 2/1.5 and Danny implied 3m somewhere. In that case, 150k wont cut it. The breakeven would be closer to 200k in that case. Although I guess the gate will bring in ~4m as well.
Personally, I don't think this will sell well on PPV and Danny is not a known fighter. I'll guess the same 150-160k.
GGG has tons of paper belts that were given outside the ring and guess what none of that helped him in negotiations with cotto, or canelo. Floyd had every belt and boxing accolade possible was the unanimous number 1 p4p fighter in the world and Oscar was at the end of his career no longer on anyone's p4p lists and yet still Oscar was the cash cow biggest draw in the sport. So he had all the leverage and had his way in the negotiations and Floyd had little say in the matter could either take the deal on oscars terms and make at the time a career payday or continue being the best fighter that casual fans didn't know or care about.
GGG could win every belt he will still be the B side to Canelo and if he flops he has no leg to stand on to kill the fight over more money that he clearly doesn't deserve.
Paper titles given to GGG by Canyellow when he ducked down all the way to 154 lol.
