Cotto by stoppage or clear decision. Keith just looks under developed. If Mayweather would've fought Keith instead of Berto, he would've made Keith look bad, real bad. Too bad Floyd had to take the easy route.
I'd pick prime Juda (the one who beat Spinks), to beat Keith aswell.
Cotto would knock him out within six rounds easy. **** for all that Mosley would have knocked him out. Thurman is not that great . Atleast imo, I thought porter beat him. And jell brook would beat him. Spence I'm not sure only because he hasn't really fought no one except algeiri and knocked him out.
Lets do it now. If I am Cotto I jump at the chance of winning Belts 1 more time at 147. If I am Thruman I jump at the chane to put my name out there. This is a Money fight and its what Roc Nation wants. A PPV fight for sure.
A prime Cotto wrecks the Thurman that fought Saturday.
Problem is Cotto has not wanted to fight at 147 for ever.
It's only my wish he sacrificed the body for that fight.
Cotto defended himself against Floyd's jab and straight right and Manny's straight left hand. But then Floyd adjusted to loop a right hook around Cotto's guard and land at will, just as manny adjusted to cottos defense and counter by feinting a straight left to upper cut, which hits cotto since the second round from then on. Thurman just doesn't have the ring IQ that either of these fighters had.
I don't know about not having the IQ, Thurman is a thinking fighter through and through, and he tends to know when guys are trying to set him up with counters. I just don't think he possess the tools. Even the overhand right that he'd have going for him in this fantasy match up, Mosley threw it better in 2007 and Cotto took them well.
Even though I couldn't stand Cotto's hype, I wouldn't pick against him with the current crop of welters we have.

Yep, he also took no real damage from canelo...Cotto's defense is underrated and as he's gotten older it's seemed to improve.

Very good post ,agree with it 100%
Was never massively impressed by Cotto at 147, but I would certainly pick him over the Thurman we've seen to date. The class of 2007 was much better than the class of 2017.
Cotto by decision, only because I trust that Thurman will survive. Thurman has the weapons but it's too telegraphed to do anything against Cotto, from the uppercut down to the overhand right.
You need a jab to make Cotto freeze up, to loop the right hand around his guard much like Mayweather did and Thurman can't do it like that. Then you need an uppercut you can just shoot from up close and again, Thurman doesn''t utilize it like that, he loads his up.
