These are supposed to be two of Americas finest, should have been an explosive match up but instead we got two cautious fighters stinking up the joint.
These two showed how average they are tbh, both get left in a heap by Kell Brook if they ever fight.
yes he is :lol1: "Jot it in your diaries gents, my boy Garcia will style n profile"
I love how people get emotionally invested in stuff, then when it goes south they cry how everything is broken and stupid.
Sports, politics, relationships, you name it. It didn't work out so it must be shyte because I could never be wrong. :lol1:
I am a purist and I love a good technical fight but this was awful. You can be technical and step on the gas a little too. What rigo did to donaire is a great technical performance. Thurman looked terrified to lose his 0. Seriously when was the last time a "big" fight was exciting? Jcc and Martinez 2012?? I mean Floyd stunk up his Showtime contract, manny hasn't had a stoppage in a decade, and canelo beating blown up Welters is seeing his numbers plummet. I think canelo jcc has more pressure on its back than what I thought. If it doesn't sell and isn't a good fight it's looking pretty bleak
I predicted a Thurman win, which was obvious to many including Berto, Porter, Spence, among many others. It now certainly appears many were expecting more. But it was obvious Garcia was the one disengaging by clinching. There was never any moment where the ref didn't have to step in and just let them give it all they got. The trade fans were expecting to see never happened.
I was mostly disappointing because Thurman was happy to just keep moving in circles and not engage hard. He'd throw some flurries here and there to win/steal rounds and that's all he had in mind.
I'm sure he felt Garcia's power at some point early and made a final decision to just play it safe instead of getting careless at anytime and let Garcia have a chance to slip in a bomb during the exchanges. Less exchanges meant less chance of Garcia to get in anything.
Garcia so stationary at times, it's easy to box circles around him.
Neither of them seized the moment. That and neither of them are THAT good. If this was supposed to bring life to the sport, it failed. Sometimes the unpredictable needs to happen in order to create excitement. This fight was the same story. The fighter who could box on the move, outboxed the fighter who couldn't. Thurman stopped pressing early when he started getting countered by the left hook, and Danny never let loose because of Thurman's explosiveness. Neither fighter dared to step out of their comfort zone to achieve greatness. Thurman did enough to win, and Danny did enough to lose. That's the story of the fight
Aren't you the clown that made a thread saying Thurman would be left "in a heap"?
Anyhow, decent fight but my opinion of both went down slightly. Garcia didn't go after it and Keith looked sloppy. Plus, he ran AGAIN. The fight was important and needed to happen though.
Started out really exciting at least.

new era dudes, you see it in the streets and you seen in boxing. These new era dudes dont really want any problems. They want to make it to the score cards and cry robbery they dont want to try and get it cause they scared they might get GOT! Real dudes aint never worried about taking an L and these boxers today are worried about getting knocked out. They rather lose on the score cards and cry robbery than to risk maybe getting knocked out trying to prove they are THAT GUY!
Untill boxers are willing to flex their balls in the ring and go for the kill boxing will always fail to impress.
QFT.. Gone are the days of Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao etc etc
