He has this new funny stance, has no footspeed, wild punches even for David Hayes standards and had/has multiple injuries.
Bellew was right in calling Haye a broken man, and if Bellew ever gets a shot at Joshua or Klitscko its a joke.
His feet have been a lot slower since his come back but he slimmed down, looked astounding (next to Norton as atg heavyweight physique) and his hands were still quicker than Bellew. Leagues apart even. But that injury, achilles or whatever it was, took it away from him and yet Bellew was still so cautious, so slow.
Haye's body is done and Bellew isn't a heavyweight.
Beyond all that though, it was a great fight. It was like Duran trying to make amends after "no mas". Haye made all the amends for Klitschko last night. I've literally never seen a one legged man fight. For anyone who has ever boxed, they know how difficult it is to box or train with a foot, knee or hip injurt just because you can't transer your weight, fight off the back foot or throw big punches. Haye still managed all that and won maybe 2 of those rounds.
Best fight in years.
He was injured going into the fight, his camp leaked it out before the fight in case the injury became a major issue. He probably thought that even at 50% he could beat Bellew but wasn't the case.
I don't know how much of his awful performance in the first two rounds was about trying to get Bellew out of there before the ankle became a problem, but he did look shot to bits. Bellew's not exactly elusive but Haye was missing by miles.
Really didn't think his body was broke up to this point, I just felt he was slower due to inactivity and retirement and lack of rounds when he came back from his retirement. But it's becomes evident that his body was done before the fight and Team Bellew called it right before the fight.
His timing was a bit better after the second round but he has faded. The injury was unfortunate and they should have pulled him out. He can still come back though. 36 isn't too old for a heavyweight.
Yeah he looked a hell of a lot slower. I had him winning the fight after the first 5 rounds but not looking good at all. And then he got the injury to boot. I'd like to think he could recover enough to get a rematch and then at least go out on a win but he hasn't got much left to be honest.
