I always had Garcia in my top 5 P4P ever since he defeated Lucas Matthyse back in 2013. I remember that year where everyone was saying Garcia is a cherry picking coward like Mayweather and now both him and Mayweather was going to lose to the Machine and Cinnamon on Mexican Independence Day weekend. Both win and they still didnt get their just due. I was saying since if Garcia beat Matthyse, everyone should shut up and respect his crown and put him top 5.
People want to point to close decisions and little stepping stones as an excuse to not give him credit. However GGG and other bum killers populate everyones top 5. None of those guys except Ward and Kovalev have any argument to be above Garcia. Garcia has already answered questions and once again its the same narrative. All y'all doing is making another monster ala Floyd Mayweather. Wake up. DSG top 5 P4P.
Y'all ignorance is not making you guys realize this thread is collecting your souls. After Garcia wins I am coming back here to laigh
:D
Top5 P4P still?
Sure, if you want to look at the Peterson and Herrera fights and pass them off, refusing to think about them because of the official decision.
Don't expect anyone to respect your opinion on that, however.
Had the decisions gone the other way, you wouldn't think he's p4p no.5 or whatever at all. Those decisions could have easily gone the other way on a different night.

Fighters who are not even close to being P4P. You can give him credit but not put him on P4P list for it. Once again, P4P is measurement of skills head to head vs other fighters.
You can make a case for Garcia to be P4P but TOP FIVE? I don't think so.
Bruh.. you are talking in and out your ass bruh. How you going to say P4P is a measurement of skills head to head vs other fighters but in the same breath say P4P is not based on resume?
Seriously a fighter's resume is a great indicator as well as legitimate proof to someone being P4P. GGG and other bum killers are why you guys are talking bs on resumes. Plus there is no way to dispute a fighter if their resume is great and thats why yall dont want to talk resume. GGG and a bunch of others will not have a legitimate cause to be P4P once we talk resume but Garcia is up there comfortable.

So you cant make case for Crawford or GGG either
Lucas was higly rated before Garcia ,same with Khan ,GGG or Crawford didnt face fighters rated half as high at are said to be as top 5 the best boxers ,i dont buy it .
thing about resume is ,we have it ,H2H? is just speculation ,eye test failed many times before ,one is sure great fighters have great resume.
Good fighters close fights ,if GGG will beat Canelo by MD ,we should give him little credit?

But even resume is not a good argument for Garcia.
He has questionable wins vs Theophane, Herrera AND Peterson. When you lose to those kind of fighters that doesn't make you a P4P fighter. If you lose to a P4P fighter that's understandable but when you lose to fighters you were supposed to win against...

he was close when he was on that string of victories over morales, judah, khan, lucas... But watching him struggle with movement vs herrera and peterson, its very hard to say danny has elite skills.. Some areas of his game are elite like his counterpunching, power, timing, decent to above average chin, but he does have major holes in his game, notably flat footed, movement troubles him, he doesn't have a great defense, has limited head movement.
doesnt resume prove your skill?

Yet he beat better opposition then other mentioned
Resume is all opinion based. How can you say one boxer from one division is better then another boxer from another division? I look at skill set when i rate boxers and Garcia skill set isnt impressive.
Its all opinioned based and even then Garcia resume looks overhyped. His best wins are khan and maythesse. I dont count morales because he was on his way to retirement just like i dont count Canelo great resume by beating cotto.
Originally P4P was not about resume as far as Im concerned. This resume thing is a newer but I could be wrong.
This right here.
Good thing P4P isn't just about resume though.
doesnt resume prove your skill?
If ppl have GGG or Crawford but not Garcia it shows they boxing knowladge ,some have LOma but proven 140 champ and 147 champ is not in top 10 ,ppl just dont like him.

Being in Top5 P4P means you are best in sport, head and shoulders above average fighters, means you dominate your opposition.
When you get 7 close decisions in your last 12 fights, some very debatable, you are clearly NOT above.
This right here.
Who has a better resume than Danny Garcia?

All y'all doing is making another monster ala Floyd Mayweather. Wake up. DSG top 5 P4P.Why would anybody put him top 5 pfp for winning a fairly close fight with Matthysse? Nobody had Matthysse in the top 5 pfp. Run your own pfp list anyway you want. That's fine. Who the hell are you to tell all of us we should put Garcia top 5 pfp or even put him on the list at all?????? Other than Matthysse what outstanding fighters did Garcia ever beat? Khan? A guy who lost to Peterson and was KOed by Prescott. Morales? A way way past prime old boxer. Who are all these great fighters Danny beat? I can't think of any. Garcia went well over a year without defending his 140 pound belts. He lost to Herrera on most scorecards and just edged out Peterson. Garcia has never beaten a top welterweight to date unless you consider washed up Paulie and Guerrero top welterweights. There are many undefeated boxers in this world with better records than Garcia and with no debatable wins.
d
Hell no. Not on my pfp list. Everybody has a right to their own list since pfp is opinion based and can't be proven. Put him at the top of your list if you want. He lost to Herrera and just barely beat Peterson on my scorecard. I think there are at least 25 boxers in this world who are better than Garcia pfp.
Or maybe hes just not that good? When your average at everything its hard to justify you being the top 5 best boxer in the world.
Yet he beat better opposition then other mentioned
