I see people are going to revisionist history. Garcia has had many close fights, but Matthysee wasn't one of them. Garcia won clearly. That's the biggest reason IMO he deserves some p4p consideration, as Matthysee was considered a real killer going into it. Anyways, we'll find out this weekend if Garcia merits top 10 p4p. My prediction is that its a tough, close fight, that Thurman wins, but I can see either dude hurting the other, so Im not completely sure about the result.

I DO think that DSG is underrated in a p4p sense. I would have him right around #10 and higher if he beats Thurman, his first significant win in a 2nd division. Yes, Garcia often looks less than spectacular in the ring. But he manages to win the fights. (I had the Herrera fight going either way, so I wont quibble with the official result). That, and his recent crap resume is why people diminish him probably Seeing him I don't necessarily see top p4p talent. But I also look at the results, and his past resume is top 10 p4p. The Thurman fight will bring it to a head - he either proves hes a top 10 p4p or not. He may even overtake GGG if he beats Thurman, we'll see. I favor Thurman.

Have you ever seen Garcia v Theophane? Garcia got the nod with an SD win but that could have quite easily have gone the other way. If Theophane had won, nobody could have called it a robbery. It was probably just as close as the Lucas fight, maybe closer. LMAO @ Danny THE GIFT Garcia on any given night, he could have 4 losses on his record. GTFOH even comparing him to GGG

Dude just about has all the belts at 160, highest KO % in the sport or close to it, has guys dropping belts to avoid fighting him. I think it proves something... he's got guys shook and if you fight him, you are likely getting put to sleep. Danny the voiceless wonder hasn't fought any legit threats at 147 because his team knows he had success beating up on smaller opponents at 140. This Thurman fight will illustrate that point when Danny gets worked.

no he's not dominant. arguably has 3 losses on any given night. Peterson (L) Herrera (Definite L) Lucas (controversial). Would you be confident Danny would get the decision in Argentina? it is what it is. Have you ever seen Garcia v Theophane? Golovkin definitely wouldn't need gifts against fighters on the level of Herrera or a faded Peterson.

herrera is a C level fighter and he beat Danny Garcia. the fact is Lucas won imo. you can disagree but it's up for debate. there are no debates in GGG fights. he ends them. that is dominance and has to be accounted for. NO. Danny beat Lucas and had less landed "jabs" than herrera but landed more "power shots" than Herrera. So give Herrera a trophy for Jab-king on an off night for Garcia and let it go already... Resume wise yes, skill wise we can't know for sure in the pros. We know that as amateurs GGG was way better, like way better 345-5 with an Olympic Silver medal. DSG lost more than twice as many amateur fights as GGG with like 3x less fights 107-13. With that said, even though GGG may be the better fighter, I root for DSG over GGG any day of the week because even though i've seen DSG in trouble of losing at least he's taken on challenges and been the underdog. Playing devil's advocate: If guys like Martinez, Cotto, Canelo*, Sturm, Quillin**, Chavez Jr *** would've fought GGG when it was their time to fight him, he would've had a better resume than DSG. * Fight can still happen ** Not really either fighters fault, just network issues *** More Bob Arum's fault for not happening, due to offering Chavez Jr a sh*tty contract in order to fight GGG

Garcia is a good fighter....but he is nowhere near Golovkin's level. Golovkin has a chance go down as one of the better middleweights of all time. Other contenders salivate at the thought of facing Garcia. They mostly run away from Golovkin. ^^^^^This.

HE has a better resume for sure, 2 different fighters, gggee is more dominant vs who is in front of him danny is the most accomplished tho

herrera is the definition of a c level fighter. dude loses 30% of the time to other c level guys like p cano and k mayfield.

Herrera has proven himself to be better than C level...but if he was a ggg opponent he'd be called D level.:lol1: all I'm saying is dsg has faced the higher level opposition...for all we know ggg could start taking L's against top level opposition.

I don't know what's funnier - that you called Lucas' victory a fact but also say I can disagree with it and it's up for debate - or that you genuinely believe Lucas beat DG. i wrote imo. which means in my opinion. you can argue otherwise but the very fact that it's up for debate detracts from dominance. do you understand that logic? dominance = KO/TKO. conclusive end. having the judges render their opinion is not dominance. this is not a figure skating competition.
