Just imagine that windimilling idiot who has the skills of a neanderthal trying to overwhelm a master counterpuncher like Haye that way. Wilder is just begging to get countered with such pathetic technique and sloppy wide punches, too bad the stiffs he choses as opponents don't have the skills nor the balls to even try it
Haye also has plenty of power to boot, unlike the abysmal bums Wilder loves to fight (on short notice, so they dont even get a proper training camp, I might add)
Haye utterly humilliated Wilder in a sparring session once, for good reason.
So can we all agree that Wilder will take a nice canvas nap if he dares to fight the Hayemaker? (which we know he won't, since Haye is dangerous and Wilder doesn't fight those kind of opponents)
Wilder will never get his full due or credit until he beats Joshua, which I believe he will. This is what happens when people listen too much to Eddie Hearns and the typically British BS. Wilder is not the most technical or fundamental boxer but he thinks out there and eventually gets to his opponents. There are quite a number of people who constantly try to discredit Wilder by naming jokes like David Haye. What has David done exactly that would have warranted such confidence in him over Wilder? Same for Klitschko himself - his fight with Bryant Jennings already showed he was a shadow of his former self and now has to fight guys his size who are athletic.
Wilder is the fastest HW right now in my opinion - not in terms of his hands - which he windmills when he gets opponents in trouble. However, Wilder does not take as much damage as people make it out to be. Looking at the last fight against Washington, the rounds lost were more due to Wilder not doing much than it was due to Washington being exceptional. Wilder also can fight when he is both on his backfoot or leading. The main difference, I think, between AJ and DW is that AJ's defense is his offense. He is always on the attack. My hope is that they do collide so that Wilder eventually can get his due respect.
Boxing is not always about who is the better skilled boxer, or finesse but who wins. Wilder finds a way to win.

What a f*ckin' joke this thread and this poster is.
i remember this fool had ward beating kovalev and thought brook was doing great against ggg. its nice that he can point out things but he seems to do so at the expense of what is happening overall. or in other words...:kabong:
My understanding is that Barry thought Kovalev win a close fight, where did you hear otherwise?
Poor Daggum...His Russian was extended...beaten...Put on ice by an oakland rapper, because everyone in Oakland is a rapper right? The russian was outboxed mario! Live with it!!! it happens!!! Krushev was outjabbed by Nixon! of course Krushev was not allowed to use his finger or Vodka...Nixon being a tea totaller.
What has Haye done in the last five years? F*ck all is the answer.
A solitary win over a fat Chisora in 2012 means very little in the context of a Wilder fight. Wilder is crude but at least he's hungry and training hard. Haye on the other hand is all mouth.
Haye ain't stopping sh*t.
If he couldn't catch slow ass Vlad he ain't catching Wilder.
Wlad then is a better fighter than Wilder now. Haye has the experience to stop Wilder, especially with his wide and wild style.
:beerchug: Coach Robinson is my favorite guy for explanations.

He actually analyzes and breaks down technique...These days what goes for training often involves "come on Come on!!!!" Robinson is a credit to the sport, there are others...I tend to be miscategorized as an "old time enthusiast" when in fact I just want someone who will develop and analyze so people can learn and get better.
I always enjoy his material...One of my favorites was the breakdown on the Ward Dawson fight!
I'm saying footwork and positioning play a role before punches do.
Wilder defends by moving which is all Wlad had to do against Haye. Wlad didn't even use upper body movement or many angles. He stayed right on the track because Haye's footwork wasn't good enough to get close enough to Wlad to make him switch tracks let alone hit him.
Let coach Berry explain
Good source!
I tend to see the outcome of the fight like you do: Imo Haye is an ambush fighter and he depends on a certain probability that during the course of a match, he will get a certain amount of chances to unload a big punch. He does not have counterpunching ability, he has no real variations other than using speed to bridge the gap....
Consequently when he faces a big man who holds his ground he can't get the opportunity to unload because he cannot get past reach...probably because he does know how to use angles. He always has fleet of foot but without angles why should an opponent with reach give up a potential opening?
When he was a cruiser he had a big enough punch to carry the day...and as a heavyweight he had problems with guys who have a lot of reach. Indeed, Klitsko did not have to make any adjustments to keep Haye away.
I also see Juggy's point that potentially Haye is very talented, and against an inexperienced opponent like Wilder he may get an opportunity, but, without using angles...I would bet on Wilder.
I can see why he didn't fight Shannon, if he beats him 'so what he's old & shot' if he loses then his career is over. Literally no up side for limited money.
Haye is back for money & that's all.
Yep, he's getting hate for fighting Bellew, which is a mismatch, so you can imagine the stick he'd get for fighting a pensioner like Briggs. As for WIlder...no. Power is too much for Haye to handle.
I forgot, about when was it Wilder sparred with Haye? Was that sometime around the Harrison fight?
Wilder has without a doubt improved, y'all are looking for the wrong things. Everyone seems to want every boxer to fit the mold of hit and don't get hit pure boxing, but not everyone needs to run 52 blocks to avoid a punch ya get me?
Wilder's whole posture has changed since then let alone how he's using his footwork, check hook, angles, and generalship.
Wut...
