Even if Peterson is to win or lose on Saturday, Khan will be fighting Peterson in a tune up bout. He has told his team that he wants to avenge his losses to Peterson and Garcia by the end of this year. The fight should be announced next week, with a press conference in the UK.
Khan's next fight will be at the Manchester Arena, which has been booked for May 13th.
I'd laugh if Khan lost close questionable decision again. It would be the only time i'd be happy to see a robbery.
To be fair, i thought Peterson won the first fight anyway, it was close.
Your are correct, Khan DID lose the first fight.
It was close, but Khan's constant fouling lost him the fight.
I think Peterson beats him again, even in the UK.
Khan has not improved, Peterson's inside work could make the difference.
Not a bad fight. Good back story. Ref will be important. Khan can't be allowed to get away with pushing for 12 rounds again. No Peterson's fault that Khan can't fight on the inside.
tune up against the guy who had you reeling aorund the ring like a drunken unicyclist?

khan needs a tune up, i'll give him that. guy was out with his eyes open against canelo. you don't tune up against lamont peterson. i don't care how much he's slipped. the guy can fight and he punished khan in a very close fight. i don't doubt that he could do it again, maybe even upset khan or knock him out.
But he was on PEDs. But Lamont was literally chasing khan. And khan couldn't get away. People didn't do that against Floyd.
Funny enough I just rewatched this fight. Great fight. I was just thinking where the rematch would be.
I think Khan takes a close one, 115-113 this time around.

If Garcia loses to Thurman, he would take a 50/50 split against Khan on PPV in the UK in an instant. Where does Garcia go after a Thurman loss? Khan is his bread and butter then
I would absolutely love to see Angel start spewing P4ki hate at the pressers in the UK...
It'd be like WW3
It's about time Khan tried to avenge his losses of so many years ago. Prescott begged him for a rematch countless times and Khan should have obliged him. He might beat the average punching Peterson with a home country advantage. Garcia will never come to England for him and his power and skill will KO Khan again in my opinion.

Why would Lamont Peterson even make such an agreement?
Assuming he wins his fight this week, he instantly becomes mandatory challenger to the title unification fight between Thurman and Garcia (with the timing of the situation likely meaning that the fight would happen come June/July).
Even assuming that he gets beat, that'd be a 90-95 day turnaround between fights for Peterson (1-2 weeks off, another hard 8-week camp, travel to adjust for the time zone difference, and then a hard weight cut to the fight).
And that's assuming that nothing happens to Peterson, physically, in his coming fight (33 years of age, and 16 months off between fights, opens up the chance for some silliness to happen), let alone any talk of how the money would be split up.
Peterson shouldn't come to the UK to fight Khan because he'll get robbed apparently :lol1:
They must be forgetting Khan went to Peterson's hometown as the champion and was robbed doe? Or should we just gloss over that because it happened in America?
I mean fair enough Khan was an absolute idiot to do that but then we expect that from him....he does have a tendency to do/say mind boggling stuff every so often but still. Surely he deserves a little leeway from Peterson having for some reason agreed to fight in his backyard as the champ and if the rematch ever does happen presumably it'll be with no belts on the line?
Not that it's happening like...OP is just trolling but the point remains.
:lol1::lol1: :ANYWORD:
Hearn appears to have more sway with the WBC lately.
Anyone who can count on 450,000 mongoloids buying a wank PPV for £16.95 gets sway with the WBC, that just happens to be Hearn because, credit to him, he markets his fighters better to a more welcoming Market.
All the sanctioning bodies with the exception of the IBF will go straight against their own rules to line their pockets. Boxings crooked, always has been and always will be.

Spence has already come out on record saying he isnt worried about the judges or hometown scoring.
The IBF select the officials and judges. The promoters and management team have no say in who rules over that bout.
no doubt people will say Eddie "IBF" Hearn can influence the strictest, fairest sanction body there is :dunce:

Well Spence is up against it too, he'll need a ko to win but I think he will get it, even more so after Kell had his faced literally smashed. Those final thirty seconds were Ingle was desperate to stop the fight flapping his towel like a women with her handbag may very well have shaven 5 years off of Brook's career. I don't think he's in it for the long run anyway, he was more interested in cashing in versus GGG than unifying. He hasn't the heart of the true greats he'll be lucky to be held in higher regard than Khan after Spence has tortured him and his fans souls.

The winner of Avanesyan-Peterson will be the WBA mando right? Just shows why Peterson turned down the Spence fight, much easier route to a more significant title fight.
And is Khan still the WBC mando?
It's not a bad fight could be itv? I'd rather mattyse though or maybe even algeiri I think Khan would do a number on him in the rematch
Algieri is damaged goods, just like Brook will be if he goes ahead with the Spence fight which I doubt happens unless he's paid handsomely to have his face smashed again, if Hearn doesn't run it as a ppv I doubt Brook goes through with it and vacates. I pray this fight is a Uk PPV.
