If he loses to Jacobs people will say the only time he fought a competent world class Middleweight he lost
All his 20+ defences wouldnt mean a damn thing, its not how many you beat its about when you step up do you actually deliver.
I feel unlike a lot of fighters who lose if GGG loses now, it will really really stain his career and wouldnt even be considered for the HOF.
He could be known as the guy who fooled the public for as long as he possibly could
maybe but it would certainly disprove ATG, P4P, would beat Hagler/Robinson/Monzon garbage the g string ball gaggers post on here day after day.
I don't think I've seen posts lie that.
Yes, but that's ignoring the fact that the HBO spin machine is invested in Golovkin

If Jacobs boxes the **** out of Golovkin and stops him early, air gets let out of the balloon for a bit, with eyes going to now look back on the record.
Went to war with a faded Kassim Ouma, had a good scrap with Gabriel Rosado debuting at 160lbs, going 11 rounds with durable "almost man" Matthew Macklin, Kell Brook being his best opponent even though he was coming up to weight classes, etc.
The amount of hype that went into building Golovkin up would be made flatly clear, with the reactions to that being what they are.
If Jacobs and Golovkin end up having a back-and-forth 12 round war, where Jacobs closes strong down the stretch for an 8-4 or 7-5 win (or a stoppage in the championship rounds of the fight), Golovkin's legacy moves on without too much damage (Golovkin would've shown that his skills were top world-level, though not at that pinacle)
His defenses are already done, they're in the record books in what ever place he's in at MW. Yes if he loses to Jacobs that will look bad, just like anyone who loses to someone they should've beaten. I don't see Jacobs winning, he's too chinny and the fight that has people a little bit hyped of Jacobs is the Quillin fight and we all know Quilin was ridiculued as a paper champ who never fought anyone of note (like GGG). Maybe Jacobs exposes another guy with a weak resume but I doubt it, GGG is legit, he's the only MW with an Olympic medal and he has something like 300+ wins and 5 losses, so he is a legit fighter in a weight class with no one near his success as an amatuer or a pro. Jacobs is in big trouble here, not GGG, he could take a punch. If Jacobs wins though, you can say goodbye to the hype because although Jacobs is a step-up he's not all that anyway, already been KO'ed.
Pretty much agree with the above.
Why would it?
Jacobs hasn't lost to anyone but Pirog. It doesn't mean anything. For all we know, Jacobs could end up beating the **** out of everyone at 160 and 168.
I don't have him on my P4P list yet.
Because "what he already has done" is mighty thin for a guy over a decade in.
He has looked the part but his competition has been average at best.
A lost to Jacobs will not ruin everything, but IMO he'll still have a lot to prove.
And, unless he is taking care of himself like BHop, that window to prove things may be closing.
That's disrespectful to jacobs...we don't really know what he may become either. It would kind of depend on what he did afterwards. Also, ggg is at that age where he's prime to take an L. He could get old overnight at any point, and i believe he's already shown slippage...the only people saying jacobs is a complete walkover for ggg are delusional fanboys or haters who would love nothing more than to use the loss against him. I favor ggg over jacobs, but not like i would favor the 2013 version of ggg.
If Golovkin loses he'll take a massive hit. Not because he hasn't been good but because he has been overhyped. Since the Steven's fight it has gone nuts and has been out of wack with resume.
I love watching his fights because they are undeniably dramatic. But the hype is unreal. I never understand why K2 and Loeffler get criticised. They have done a perfect job of bringing Golovkin from an unknown contender to a top 5-10 attractions in the boxing world. And all without beating anyone elite.
Where he does get credit is the KO streak. Who else has knocked out 23 fighters in a row and of which many are B- level fighters. Casuals love this and that is a major factor in the "monster" hype. Slay or vanquish a monster and the monster deflates entirely.
The only way back for GGG would be to beat another top fighter such as Canelo or a SMW contender.
The reason you spend so much time and energy denigrating Golovkin is that, deep down, you know that you wrote there is bullshit. Think about it.
Bruh....you can't deny or rebuttal a thing I said about his resume or level of opposition .....fall back and keep using his dick as your pacifier
Facts are facts whether you like them or not.
How am I denigrating him by saying he hasn't beat anyone elite? Has he
Has he won his titles in the ring? Nope
Does he have one of the best resumes in the sport? Another no
Keep fighting the good fight lol
To dick riders facts=hate
Facts=whining
Regardless of your childish insults, anyone with common sense knows he has much left to prove and being top 5 p4p is unjustifiable considering his resume and level.of opposition
There are far more proven fighters so you can deflect and insult me all you want, it won't change the fact there are fighters in their 20s whose taken more risks n are more accomplished than your the man you love lol

No insults, just a fact. The way you whine on and on about Golovkin, the same retarded crap over and over ... you remind me of a sulky child.
And why are you crowing to me about Manny, Mathysse and Provodnikov? I've never been a particular fan of of any of them.

Up to this point there are some that say that he is fooling the public.
He needs this fight as much as Jacobs does. Both want to prove that either they are the best middleweight or that their legacy is more than what their career has been up to now.
That's why I can't wait for this fight to happen.
Mmmm ... let me guess .. Ward, a LHW who wanted 2 tune-ups before facing "Li'l g"?
Lara .. a B level SWW who's own manager said there is no chance he moves up to MW for Golovkin?
And Canelo, who relinquished his WBC belt and ran away from GGG last year?
Did I miss anybody? Sergio Mora maybe?
no, the facts lay out like this. We'll fight anyone from 154-168.
Ward: knowing Ward would be shyte house lucky to even make 168, they insisted upon 164 for a Ward/g string fight. This after accepting 168 for both Chavez Jr. and Froch. Clear DUCK!
Lara: anyone from 154-168 but not Lara despite him being rated #1 at 154 for more than a year. Even I don't think Lara could beat g string but it amuses me the way they will fight a welterweight but won't even consider Lara.
Canelo: anyone from 154-168. Canelo at 156? No. Canelo for 10 million? No. Canelo for 15 million? No
clever troll!
Golovkin is a Olympic silver medalist (got robbed in the gold medal match), that accomplishment alone shows he knows how to box.
the fact you even compared Pavlik to Golovkin, invalidates the point you were trying to make beyond trollin
I know it doesn't fit your agenda but g string lost that gold medal match by quite a bit and I have never heard anyone complain of it being a robbery.
or he can regret that his management team passed on every quality fighter willing to fight him.

The middleweight division is weak let's not kid ourselves. GGG has dominated a weak era with no legit challengers. His best fights have been against physically smaller men coming up from lower weights. I already made a great thread about how small a percentage of his opponents have been natural Middleweights. It would look bad for him the first time he fights a natural Middleweight champion he loses. I don't see it happening though, Danny Jacobs can't take a punch.
Correct, it would look very bad after all the hype but I don't see Golovkin losing either!
A loss wouldn't change what he has achieved previously, it would just put it in perspective for those that can't see that, as yet, he hasn't actually achieved much more than being the best of a very mediocre bunch.
If Jacobs win, it shows us how good he is, not how bad GGG is.
maybe but it would certainly disprove ATG, P4P, would beat Hagler/Robinson/Monzon garbage the g string ball gaggers post on here day after day.
