Zlaticanin was being praised as a monster by some on this forum. I think most of it had to do with his last name. I also thought he was kind of bummy. This year has been very bad for the hypes. Shabransky, Khytrov, Troyanosky, Zlaticanin. Will the racists ever learn their lesson? Dan picked him to upset Mikey. Other than that I didn't see too much ridiculous hype. I think Zlaticinin is a good boxer. Mikey is just an elite boxer. There is no shame losing to him, even by brutal KO.

Boxer punchers, or really just big punchers in general, are a pressure fighters worst nightmare. That being said, Zlaticanin was just good, whereas Mikey is elite. Also, there really wasnt that much hype for Zlaticanin. Not to the level that you are talking about. Most thought Mikey was going to win, the manner of the victory was maybe a bit surprising though. Im struggling to remember any posts favouring Zlat tbh, though im open to being proved wrong. I would like to see Zlat come back with some easy fights and then see if he can get back to world level. Early blowouts happen. Doesnt have to be the end of the road. Some pretty basic stuff that he can work on such as headmovement and not overreaching. Maybe Abel Sanchez could help him? Or even Roberto Garcia now there isnt any need to worry about fighting Mikey again.

But according to what fight? Style! The 2 times I seen Zlat fight vs Ricky Burns and Ivan Redkach was the way he was coming from just all kind of Angles and apply pressure. Mikey being as good as he is was just able to neutralize all of that and time him perfectly! Does that mean Zlat wasn't good? Absolutely NOT! Mikey just BETTER!
