These 2 promotional companies are considered to be the "biggest" in the US other than Haymon and they make less than $10 million in net income annually.
Business wise this is micro-cap size. Puny compared to other sports.
It's good that PBC is finally making the moves to grow US boxing into its full potential as a legitimate entity.
I thought the fighters getting paid was the ultimate goal here not promoters?
At least, that's the argument i read from PBC fan boys.
For me, I don't care if anyone makes money or not, I want to see fights.
Respectfully, I disagree. They may not be multi million dollar companies, but within the sport they are a big deal.
If you get signed by TR or GBP as a prospect it say to the boxing world that you are seen as a special talent that can one day win a world title. It means you will be fighting for bigger purses on bigger stages than your peers.
I either signs you oas a free agent well into your career it means they see you as one of the special boxers in the game, one that could be very profitable.
There $10 mil profit may not be the same as an NBA team, but within boxing they are the NBA equivalent of the Lakers or Spurs or any other top tier organization IMO.
That's the entire point... they are ONLY "big" within the sport. Outside of boxing they are considered micro-cap entities.
PBC will push that boundary of the entire sport. They are actually growing the entire US boxing market. GBP and TR don't do anything of that sort. Just PPVs and a few HBO dates is their outdated model.
When you compare it to other REAL sport entities like NFL, NBA, MLB, Hockey...
He'll even the Professional Bull Riding league makes more. It's a bit sad that fans tout GBP & TR as "big" when they are nothing compared to all other sports organizations.

Since when is $10 mil profit a bad thing?

Promoters would be lucky to even make profit these days. Fighters when they get near the top demand astronomical sums of money. That's why promoters should constantly recruit new faces to compensate for this as the more the fighter gets popular the less promoters make money.

Compare that to what you make.
Simple minded folks that still don't get it.
PBC is in the process of building a HUGE entity. Takes time and $$$. In the end it will be 100X bigger than TR and GBP combined. #facts
dont worry these boxing fans spew everything they hear from the boxing writers who are basically paid to smear pbc. it really is funny how quiet they are with the gbp pbc case all the sudden
what u believe these numbers? no chance they only make 10 mil in profits
It was exposed in the Haymon deposition that GBP'S only profit came from piggybacking off Canelo fights. LOL

Don't pay attention to net income for private companies. You don't know how much the officers are taking out in salary and what **** they are spending on to avoid paying taxes.
Compare that $$$ to the Professional Bull Riding league.
Boxing loses if it relies on GBP and TR LOL
There are room for other companies. It is just extremely difficult for them to be profitable. That is my point.
So they made money? Most boxing promotional companies lose money. The boxing business is difficult because the fighters get such a high percentage of the revenue. I believe its like 80/20. UFC is more like 20/80
