Chavez jr is getting 20% of the PPV split. Yet Golovkin is offered a flat fee. Draw your conclusions.
The Canelo's team does things in a way that makes you think they don't want the fight, like they did to Golovkin.
ward made 5 million against kovalev so i guess he's a bigger star than chavez jr? what a promoter pays a fighter does not determine his drawing power.
Ward's value to Main Events (for a Kovalev fight in Las Vegas, after Kovalev's last shot in Las Vegas maybe sold 1000 tickets) was $5m; Andre Ward, outside of showing up for the fight, had near no say in any of the fight particulars.
Still, Andre Ward has fought in his native Oakland, and has had at least 4 fights sell over $700k at the gate, so he's a draw in his own right.
Does the money put behind Andre Ward's event come up to the money that is put behind Chavez Jr's fights? We'll see; Andre Ward now has three belts around his waist, Roc Nation Sports will likely take the lead on the coming Ward-Kovalev rematch, and we'll see what type of interest MGM Resorts has in Andre Ward going forward.
In the three fights, Chavez Jr made more money than Golovkin's made in his four fights since Chavez Jr's first one.
Money talks., regardless of how hard you've tried to ignore that

What Chavez gets paid from his promoter does mean he's a draw. If Haymon wants to pay me 10 million to fight in a closet with no audience, that doesn't mean I'm a boxing star.
... Chavez Jr is his own promoter; he hires out folks to help handle the logistics for him, but his own take still ends up being whatever revenue is left over after paying everyone.
Not a secret, lol.
Chavez Jr vs Reyes, with Warriors Boxing handling the logistics, was two full-on events, both of which using Chavez Jr's name to sell tickets, with fights being broadcast on CBS, Showtime and Televisa in Mexico.
Not Chavez Jr's fault that Golovkin has literally no control over his own events.

Chavez held out for a percentage, just as any legit draw would do, just as GGG's team is doing.
The idea that GBP doesn't know what the Canelo/GGG fight is worth and is overpaying with their offer of 15 million is laughably stupid. They have rooms full of bean counters to make sure they come away with as much money as possible.
No legitimate boxing writer or insider has said they think GGG should take that deal, because it's a bad deal.
Canelo has not made Mayweather/Pacman levels of PPV sales or money, he needs GGG also.
Summary: since leaving HBO 3 years ago Chavez has
1. Humiliating loss vs no name, half his HBO ratings
2. UD over a bum, half his HBO numbers
3. Untelevised UD over a bum, Haymon couldn't spare a date for his sorry a$$.
Crossover in Mexico, lolol you're a clown.

GGG is a solid fighter, but please stop trying to make him out to be some huge draw with a huge fanbase..it just isnt true...He has a solid following but not on a Chavez-Canelo level..Canelo is fighting Chavez jr for the same reason GGG wanted the fight and do you forget how ya'll were justifying it?
chavez did 660k viewers and 9000 fans against reyes
chaeve did 830k viewers and 8000 fans against fonfara
how is that a bigger draw than ggg? sure you can bring up fights from 4-5 years ago but what about now?

GGG isn't even worth the $15million they're offering him. that's as good as it's gonna get. Chavez Jr is a C level opponent but he's the son of a legend and Mexican, that alone means he brings more $$$ to the table than GGG because it's no secret Mexican fans are single handedly keeping the sport alive.
Canelo and his fans know beating Chavez does absolutely nothing for his resume, it's simply a money fight and that's what boxers fight for.
Yeah ok...lol
the only conclusion here is ggg is getting a flat fee of 15 million while chavez jr is gettin 5 mill or 6 mill twice the amount ggg is getting...ggg will never make 15
ggg and jacobs are splitting 5 mill between both of them...and before people start talking ish if he can fight jr at 165 he can fight ggg at 160...the fight is there for ggg at 160 he refuses to sign the contract
$15 million flat fee will probably end up being more than 20% of a PPV between Canelo/GGG. A very optimistic number for Canelo vs GGG is 600k at $65 = 39 million dollars. $15 million you could say it's actually too much and you could question, what the hell is GBP thinking offering that high a flat fee. Usually Pac/May B sides get $3-6 million. Canelo is on that level of Pac selling wise. He could offer GGG $5-6 million and that would be fair.
Chavez Jr is probably not seeing $15 mill from the Canelo fight, not from the PPV purse. It will have to be from endorsements, gate and everything combined that he may reach $15 mill, i'm calling it now.
Are you seriously comparing Chavez following to GGG's?
Chavez brings more to the table. That's why GGG was even willing to move up for him.
lol...............
You say all of this like you don't know this is how business works... Of course he's gonna get lowballed, but on the same token its more money then he's made in his entire career for one ****ing fight, a fight that all of his cronies are saying is easy money...
Tale the easy money right? No brainer? No offense, but you have absolutely no clue how business works and what you're saying is 100% wrong. Just because it's 'more money than you've ever made' is not a good reason to sell. It never was and never will be. Any neophyte entrepreneur knows this.
On top of that, there's a reason even you are using the word 'lowball'. Definition per google:
offer a deceptively or unrealistically low estimate, bid, etc. to.
Look at you DEFENDING a ducking fraud.
This is great for the sport, keep up the good work.
It isn't Canelo who has somehow found a way NOT to fight every single elite guy who has called him out. If you compare resumes, it is clear which of the two comes closer to the definition of fraud, not that I am calling either guy one...
I bet you all your points that Canelo vs Chavez Jr does better numbers than Golovkin vs Jacobs.
Deal?
Are you fcuking kidding me? The convo is Canelo Chavez vs Canelo GGG, not Jacobs. Idiots like Scipio and others claim Chavez brings more ppv buys. That one I'd happily bet all my points on
Wrong as usual, dumbfcuk. In the past 3 years Chavez hasn't don't 700k viewers, GGG doubles that vs anyone. Doubles his gate at least. Chavez last fight was on bein sport. Can you put all of this together?
And it's the opposite, you just can't help being wrong every time eh. Chavez and Canelo cannibalize each other sales, there's huge overlap. It's the opposite with GGG, which has way more crossover appeal than this made for Mexico circus
I bet you all your points that Canelo vs Chavez Jr does better numbers than Golovkin vs Jacobs.
Deal?
20%?? Thats like 7 mill for each 1mill ppvs sold, the fight needs to reach like 2mill ppvs for chavez to make 15 million, i doubt it happens... chavez will be lucky to walk away with 10 mill if anything...
Chavez Jr's fight with Fonfara, a fight that wasn't all that high-profile when put up, saw him take home, saw Chavez Jr take home over $4m, the figure that Golovkin and his camp were creaming themselves over being offered to head to the UK.
Chavez Jr's fight against Reyes was the cornerstone of a double-shot event from El Paso, TX, with broadcasts on CBS, Showtime, and a push from Televisa; Chavez Jr didn't tweet out any of his cheques from that event, but you can assume that they payday was strong there as well.
Golovkin's biggest disclosed payday, even after four years of push by HBO, was the $2m for the Lemieux fight; folks like you always want to talk about how big a star Golovkin is, but the money NEVER matches up with your talk.
Saul Alvarez is a major star in Mexico; Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has a major name in Mexico and a good star in his own right; Alvarez vs Chavez Jr is the type of showdown that will not only capture the Mexican boxing/sports audience, but also has the space to capture the attention of the entire country generally.
The fact that you think that Golovkin has any crossover in Mexico beyond the hardcore boxing audience is hilarious.
Summary: since leaving HBO 3 years ago Chavez has
1. Humiliating loss vs no name, half his HBO ratings
2. UD over a bum, half his HBO numbers

The Canelo fight is being offered for September so GGG would be fighting Jacobs regardless
If Golovkin had signed the deal to fight Alvarez in September, the Jacobs fight would've likely still happened (the WBA was calling their mandatory defense), but the build to the fight would be far better planned.
K2, knowing that the Golovkin fight was for sure happening, would've had the space to put up the money secure the Jacobs and Saunders fights (without the extra layoff) in the run-up to the PPV (with HBO shilling the heck out of Golovkin along the way).
Now, without any coordination, Golovkin is left in the lurch; if the Chavez Jr fight turns out to be a barnburner (or Cotto looks like an utter savage in his coming two fights), any notion that Alvarez would even bother with Golovkin for September gets dumped out the window.
Haha, Canelo got burned.
I love how the hate squad is making it sound like GBP is overpaying with the 15M offer. Oscar the generous is doing Golovkin a big favor with that offer, and Golovkin is just an ungrateful man who refuses. Shame on that Kazakh!
Here's the simple fact: If the 15M flat fee was not great for GBP's business, they would not have offered it. It's a lowball, end of story.
