Can we all come to an agreement that the UFC is OVERRATED.
The UFC is essentially two heterosexual men (apparently) engaging in body-to-body contact on the floor, with it being labeled as "grappling" with some groping being mixed in here and there. Both individuals proceed to keep this up until they work up a sweat where they then make an effort to insert one into the other with this being affectionately referred to as "Ground and Pound" by UFC commentators. After reaching a point of satisfaction with his "work" done on his opponent (most often referred to as their lover) he will begin to punish him with an action regarded only as "love taps". The referee will then stop the bout once he's gotten his fill of the action, ultimately awarding the win to the man who asserted himself as the alpha in the fight (otherwise known as a healthy relationship in the mma world).
Their biggest stars have to mention the names of retired boxers to gave any sort of media attention, even going as far as to challenge them so that they can get the paychecks that they so greatly desire as opposed to the breadcrumbs being fed to them by their owner and pimp Dana White who successfully extorts them if they do not meet their weekly quota, threatening to initiate his own "Ground and Pound " in the event that such quota is not met.
Even though this is the case, why do these extorted fighters constantly have to mention a boxers name in an attempt to belittle the sport.
can McGregor ever reach 4 million PPV's? well there isn't an opponent out there for him comparable to Pacquiao in popularity and star power. .remember it was both Floyd and Manny that pulled that number. it takes two stars colliding to achieve that.
That is not necessarily true. Mike Tyson used to draw a large number of viewers because of the idea that he is going to destroy his opponents. People want entertainment, when they are sure of something they know will provide that particular sort of entertainment they'll pursue it.
Now in the case of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, many people were under the assumption that it would be an "all-out war" between the two, completely factoring out Mayweather's defensive style. Because the expectation was unreasonably high, the fight left many unsatisfied. It's mainly the fan's fault for expecting something that obviously wasn't going to happen unless Mayweather decided to change his style which was highly unlikely.
UFC is popular there is no doubt about that the problem is they are jerking the fighters. Got them dudes on slave contracts for real. McGregor and top fightets making what c class boxers make. A revolution is coming for that sport not sure if they need to form a union or take the UFC to court to get it done but it's coming. They risking their life like boxers and are paid peanuts. Most of their fighters are drawing huge TV ratings and ppvs but are getting paid like boxing prospects while UFC pockets all the profits.that's why their fighters keep name dropping and begging boxers for fights they jealous of the loot boxers get. They need to channel that anger and band together and go at UFC for better pay.
Floyd is forced to address McGregor because that man initiated the back and forth debacle.
And there is no proof that you can bring forth to back the claim that UFC is bigger than the historically popular sport of Boxing.
Not too long ago a certain fight generated a large sum of money that no UFC PPV could ever hope to reach.
yes Mayweather/Pacquiao did 4.6 million.. crazy number right. but from a pure entertainment and historical point of view, was that fight memorable? be real.. I was rooting for Floyd and felt he played it way too damn safe for a guy with reach, strength advantage and clearly superior footwork. not to mention we got it five years too late. . that sparring session wasn't worth $100..no way.
so yes it broke all records.. but how exactly does that benefit me as a fan?

but McGregor is all about stand up. he never goes to the ground. so your criticism doesn't apply to him.
and it goes both ways, Floyd and Conor mentioning each other helps both get free press.
as far as UFC not as big as boxing, well like Floyd says numbers don't lie..the UFC is blowing boxing out the water in terms of mainstream popularity.
their fighters are paid crumbs though that's a good point. .but maybe that's a good thing. overpay them and then you have something like PBC, low risk high reward mismatches for top guys.

boy you sure are threatened by the ufc. face it ufc has already surpassed boxing in the mainstream world.
What do you base this foolish claim off of? Last time I checked, the UFC and their fighters are the ones constantly throwing out the names of boxers, that are retired at that.
