Grade the Canelo - Chavez Jr Match Up

A+ freak show. If Chavez was the same fighter as he was when he beat Rubio and Lee I'd give him a good chance of winning. Seeing as Chavez has looked mediocre for many years, has had lots of training and weight issues, the odds aren't in his favor.

The thing is it'll probably be entertaining. I'd prefer GGG, Andrade, Charlo or Jacobs but it'll be a fun fight I'm sure. A lot of people, and myself included will probably get salty about how it'll be promoted as some super mega fight between two of the best in the world when in reality it's more of a circus fight.

The only thing intriguing about this is how a 5'7'' Canelo is going to fare at 165 against a guy who is 6', or 6'1'' and just way bigger naturally. Other than that, its a **** fest. Canelo is superior in every aspect and teh fight means nothing. Its not mw or smw. It has no relevancy in the standings of either division and there are far better fights for canelo to make. I guess the mexican public will buy it though.

Mexican casuals want to see this fight. There's a sort-of rivalry between these two.

I think it's actually a pretty good fight if Chavez comes in at his best. That's 11 lbs that Canelo is moving up, that's a big jump especially against a naturally much bigger guy who has a tremendous chin and stamina, so Canelo is gonna have to be very smart and look to systematically break down Chavez while winning as many rounds as possible. If he loads up on every shot to try to hurt Chavez he's gonna gas out late and Chavez might get him then, it's a very good fight for Canelo moving forward with his career because it's gonna prepare him for fighting bigger guys and making that style transition. I would've prefered GGG vs Canelo but I think it's gonna be an even more even matchup if Canelo fought at a higher weight once or even twice against someone bigger and more durable before he fights GGG.

Canelo is moving up 9.5lbs. The guy gets ridculed whatever he does. When Golovkins team mentioned Chavez as a possible opponent for 2017 a couple of months back i didn't see Golovtards ridiculing him. DOUBLE STANDARDS. The thread is about how you grade this matchup. Not everything in the world revolves around Golovkin.

I grade this fight a C.this will be a one sided beat down chavez jr just isn't any good and he'll be weak from being drained he's going to be a punching bag. anybody who thinks this will be a good competitive fight is truly a delusional idiot.

F*ck this fight!! Especially since I thought Canelo wasn't ready for 160 yet vs GGG. He's ready for Jr at 165.
