Taylor Barry confirms Wilder-Parker in talks for April in Vegas

Well, this would cancel out Parker V Hughie, which I could have sworn was reported as nearly being a done deal. In either event, someone lied. If Parker v Wilder is going ahead, gotta give mad props to Parker - winning a title, then straight into a unification fight with no tuneups. Wilder's whole career has been tuneups. At least we might see what Wilder actually is now - the real deal or a fraud. Parker vs Hughie Fury is arguably the type of fight that Bob Arum would love to do (take the fight to HBO/BoxNation, control the revenues from the live event, etc); Wilder vs Parker is arguably the type of fight that Duco Events would love to do (Parker gets a big fight in Barclays Center, Showtime carries the fight broadcast, Sky Sports has even more incentive to showcase Parker in the UK, and DiBella/Haymon likely cut Duco Events in on all of the relevant revenues, etc). Hughie Fury does near nothing to help get Joseph Parker any closer to a possible stadium fight against Anthony Joshua, which is arguably the biggest money fight that he can look to.

I only hope Deontay gets passed Andrzej Wawrzyk...we dont want him unifying ; all those people that hated on Wilder are soon to join the BOMBSQUAD!!!!

Set up the winner of this fight take on the winner of the Joshua-Klit fight for later this year. *fingers crossed* Sweet Christmas (fingers crossed, as well). If the fight does happen, there's likely the mandatory defenses due in the late summer, before the build to, arguably, the mega-fight of 2017, Deontay Wilder(c) vs Anthony Joshua(c) to unify the world heavyweight crown .
