iI see nothing about this guy at all..his career has been spent fighting nobodies...seriously his opponents win losses are 254-267...that is ridiculous he actually fought a guy who was 22-64-5 and had been ko's 25 times and still didnt stop the guy...Am i missing something here? What is the hype?
Nobody is hyping him up, what the hell are you talking about?
NSB has way too many of these retarded generalization threads that are based in absolute nothing. Why don't you make a "Why do so many people believe that Sun revolves around Earth?" and be done with it?
whats funny is that this larry idiot drug addict ghetto hoodrat has brought more attention to whyte with this thread on nsb than any of his fights ever did lol
I know right.. It's good though Whyte is underappreciated, if he was in MMA he'd be ranted and raved about. A lot of boxing fans are quick to label a fighter or call him a bum once they lose, big problem in boxing.
Whyte is a Power House Slugger who has a few *****s in his armor, he's got a lot of heart though. It's interesting to see if he's going to back up his trash talking.
Any hype Whyte gets is Warranted, no ones calling him the GOAT. If Whyte ever gets a World Title shot I will be rooting for him but he will most likely get knocked out in an exciting fight.

Never ducks anyone, already got credible names on his resume despite having basically no amateur background, gives exciting fights for the fans and says it like it is. Good guy.

Exactly. What is the point of this thread anyway? I don't see what benefit a thread trying to tear down a guy is or what it adds to our boxing knowledge? It's just mean spirited and totally unnecessary
First off I agree regarding these fights. Second, what makes guys like Whyte and Chisora fun is they are good enough to upstage fighters considered better at any given time. They are a lot better than depending on Audley or Price to carry the day.
Third, when did being a gate keeper become such a bad role? Everyone can't be a prospect.
Finally guys like Whyte, Styverne, Chisora are solid second tier fighters... When you have guys like that it means the division is getting stronger, no cruiser weights coming up to snatch a weak title.
Good post & I agree...
I was very critical of him as I felt the same way. I thought he was a guy who got more for a loss than anything he did winning (much like Vitali Klitschko). He landed one punch on AJ & everyone started hyping him up. Chisora is a B level fringe contender in the top 25. I had Chisora winning that fight 7-5 but I give Whyte credit as he proved to be a pretty tough guy with some skill. He showed a good chin & heart in that fight not to mention durability. I got to give him his due. Looks like he has Stiverne next in a final eliminator. That is another solid test. Let's see where he goes from here.
He is domestic level at best. Chisora arguably beat him and he is 5 years past prime. Chisora at his best just fell short of world class. Whyte is British title level.
The (minimal) hype around him is due to his nationality. If he were from, say..Ukraine instead of the UK, we would barely talk about him.
And, he's AJ's best win - so all AJ fans want Whyte to be considered good.
Whyte-Ruiz
Whyte-Ortiz
Whyte-Browne
Whyte-Briggs
Whyte-Miller
Whyte-Breazle
Whyte-Mansour
Just of the top of my head fights i'd be hyped about, Dillian Whyte is entertaining and he deserves "hype" Top 15 Heavyweight.
Nothing wrong with supporting a Glory fighter this guy is good for boxing

I personally get hyped for Dillian Whyte fights? What is so wrong about that???
Why take yourself so seriously it's like you guys are only fans of certain fighters not the actual sport?
Whyte can be in a ton of exciting ACTION fights, with interesting pre fight build ups.
Can you imagine Whyte-Big Baby miller in London? I would be Hyped af for that fight. Dillian Whyte is a fan friendly fighter who is great for the sport of boxing man:boxing:
You misunderstood the point that I made.. Getting hyped for a fight is different that hyping up the fighter itself.. These mediocre guys provide an impressive fight and Whyte-Chisora was an impressive fight and I thought that could have been the main event than Joshua-Molina..
Whyte will provide good fights against guys of his caliber but he is no world beater and anybody who is saying that he is a titleholder type Is hyping him..

You better quote or mention the guys who hype him... He is a candidate for a gatekeeper if the division nothing more..

I thought he may have gone to a decent level before he fought AJ, but that fight seems to have taken something from Dillian.
Now he's lazy with no spite to his work. He's become, well, quite boring now. He uses the ring more which just isn't his game. Before he went straight in there on the front foot and took it to his opponent. Now though, I don't see him going anywhere. It's a toss-up really with him and the overrated Stiverne.
