When the Wilder-Povetkin fight was cancelled because Sasha was found with illegal supplements in his his system Wilder took the heat from many for the fight being cancelled. After what happened with the Povetkin and the Stiverne fight to people still feel it was Wilders fault that fight didn't happen?
There is no such thing as 'clean'. All athletes are doing things to enhance their performance, some are legal (train at altitude) and others are not (use EPO), even though they all enhance performance and in this example they both do so by increasing red blood cells.
Povetkin is a doper like many others, maybe Wilder doesn't, that is his decision but I have no more respect for it than if he chose to dope like Povetkin. I'm just annoyed Povetkin was either dumb enough, or unlucky enough, to get caught twice!
Regardless of what you think of the methods used, both fighters agreed to do testing in which certain things were known to both sides to be off of the table. Povetkin agreed to take part in the fight and the testing, but nevertheless broke the agreed upon rules by taking one of the banned substances. That's on him, no matter what you say.
You might not like the rules, but if you enter a contest and understand the rules up front and break any of them that failure is on you.
It was always Povetkin's fault, even though it had only recently been banned, he was using a heart medication to enhance performance.
Sure, Wilder might be a protected hype job but at least he isn't a drugs cheat.
Well let's look at this objectively. The WBC cancelled it. No fault of Wilders. For the second time Povetkin is in question. I think the answer is obvious.

Smart post..
Both, mostly Povetkin but Wilder still should have went ahead with it, big payday and an opportunity to prove himself and gain some much needed credibility.
Only on Boxingscene where you are at fault for not fighting a PED user.
Some of the posters on this site make me sick.
And if that's true, he should have came into the ring clean and proven that.
Short of doing that, there is no reasonable thing Wilder can do other than to call off the fight. It is silly to expect anything else from a fighter when the other one gets popped.

Povetkin's superior technique would have been the greater threat.

You see what this juiced up cvnt did to Duhuapas? This doping schit isn't a game. When the other guy tests dirty you shouldn't go anywhere near the ring.

Povetkin has now been proven to be a habitual cheater. There is no one to blame but him.
It's a shame that we have missed out on two good heavyweight fights just because he lacks honor.

lmao people STILL ride Wilder for that.. it's ridiculous. You can't credit him for the fight because it never happened but you can acknowledge that Wilder accepted the fight against the challenger everyone wanted him to face and that the fight was cancelled due to circumstances entirely outside of his control.
