Most impressive fighter of the year

Guys, he's talking about past years, not this year. As in which former fighter of the year was the most impressive in the year that they won. He's not asking who deserves the award for 2016. Oh lol, I hadn't even read the OP I just saw the thread title and assumed he wanted to know FOTY 2016. Thanks for clarifying that.

Pacquiao's 2009 was also great. Fighter of the years since Martinez won it hasn't been that great TBH. I mean, there's been great wins and great performances against a single opponent, but no fighter as had two in a year. Yeah I agree. Crawford got it in 2014 for beating Gamboa and Ricky Burns, which says it all about where boxing is right now.

Ward (2011) and Pacquiao (2009) jump out from recent years. Sergio (2010) beating Pavlik and starching Williams was hugely impressive as well.

Crawford I get it, but Spence, why? For beating Algieri? this's just my opinion. He has perfect explosive power and he's real threat for welterweight fighters. :boxing:
