same. i think the whole atg career, last fight story is misguiding my judgement. i thought a hopkins decision was nailed on.
Thinking about it...i got Smith by KO. Hopkins is just too goddamn old. and 2 year layoff? it could get ugly here :(
i knew it might get ugly....but not THAT ugly :lol1: :lol1:
Loved bhop , but the guy shows 0 sportsmanship , the guy is a construction worker trying to earn some money to provide for his family , give him some credit , tell us about how great boxing can be don't give silly excuses he isn't your arch nemesis you just lost to , just a kid trying to make it in the boxing world , Fonfara showed A TON more class when he lost to him when he was unknown.
Bhop - retire , and for the love of god drop the entire "pushed out of the ring" campaign you are trying to drive , makes you look pathetic , take the KO L like the champ you were and you can come back into commentary with some integrity , if you go ahead with his rubbish you don't deserve any network job with such low integrity level.
FYI bhop is a legend in my eyes and a great boxer , but its over old man , don't come back.
Upon reflection, I must admit that Bernard Hopkins was absolutely phenomenal. Right when everybody thought he was done when he lost his titles to Jermain Taylor at 160 at age 40; Six years later, he would defy the laws of gravity again at age 46 and beyond as he moved up in weight to 175 where he captured both the lineal and unified Light heavyweight titles which was a very remarkable feat for his age. Also shows th level of talent today isn't near what it was 20, even 10 years ago.

And the clinches... Oh boy, so many clinches not a single warning its like we should make exceptions because Bernard Hopkins is brave and an exception to the rule with how he has aged that we should let him hold and we should ignore all the work of his opponents just because Bhop is old and a legend...
Doesn't work like that for me, some of the people on here scoring the fight was atrocious the Boxnation commentator Steve Lillis made an absolute fool out of himself he had Bhop up by 5-2 I think?no doubt about it.make no mistake if the fight went the distance they would have robbed smith. WAR smith!
Hurts to see this interview from BHops
Kind of wish they had showed him the replay first to avoid this crap, but it is what it is.hopkins knows what's up he knows he was knocked the fuk out but he'll never admit it because of his huge ego so he'll make up fake injuries instead. this is classic hopkins.:rofl:
A bunch of idiots, especially after B-Hop had a two year layoff. And I understand Hopkins has a lot of pride, and its hard for him to swallow a KO loss, a KO loss that should've never happened if the team weren't half way idiots, and picked more or less a lay up opponent.
Which is probably why Nazeem wasn't in his corned tonight.

Yea it was a really poor choice because Smith was determined to win with the ability and will to fight as the young man which is something B-Hop had trouble with for a long time.
20/20 hindsight but still the risks were there.obviously.
You sure seem to enjoy this which is strange when you support every black fighter like they're your son.
1-Enjoy?? hell no
2-Keep all that race sh1t to yourself
3-I am just posting facts as usual

This, exactly this!
Imagine If he picked Adonis Stevenson it'd be even worse than what we just saw tonight It's good we got a good scrap Joe Smith Jr just did what he was suppose to do maybe he shouldn't have took the fight on principles but on other hand beating Hopkins by KO is a huge platform will make him public enemy number 1 doubt many ppl will be fans.
He actually has a case
Lmfao no he doesn't....
Carl Frampton, Roman Gonzalez, Terence Crawford and I guess maybe uhhh Usyk will likely all be front runners for that award
Dan Rafael. Right before it happened the crew was actually talking about it.

wow hopkins has nothing left. No work rate, his punches looked really soft with no force and what was up with his weird baby steps? Was it to conserve energy? lol
Man I have been a huge fan of Hopkins since the 90's, and this is just sad. Whoever hand picked Joe Smith for Hopkins needs to be smacked on the back of the head. A 51 year old shouldn't ever be fighting a fighter with a 80%+ KO ratio and someone who is still in his 20's. This fight should've been against a 40 year old tomato can with limited power who has somewhat a little bit of name recognition.

Kellerman should apologise publicly for that pathetic interview....he saw the replay and still wasn't professional enough to tell Hopkins he was KO'ed fairly.
I was never a huge B-Hop fan, but I didn't want to see Hopkins go out like that.
Smith was not an easy opponent for his last fight.
51 years old and coming off a, over, two year inactivity.
Brutal...

bernards ego is too big to admit what was what.
Even though we all saw it...he's still pretending :(
He should just admit he got KOD give props to the winner and move on...
