We have got to stop hyping fighters so fast

I made that mistake with Broner, Charlo beat J-Rock woh has literally beaten no one..so why was J-Rock hyped so much? i dont get it, and Charlo didnt look like some great elite fighter in the fight either. I think we as boxing fans get a little to damn excited after fights. Sure at 26 this is a fight he had to win and a i applaud him for it and will say he is on the right path. But is he fights Canelo next i see it being a brutal night for him. There are levels in this sport and Canelo is an Elite well crafted fighter and Charlo seems to be a couple levels below. I wish the young man much success but lets stop hyping these damn kids up so fast and let them grow as fighters

I think it's good to hype up young prospects. It creates interest and also pressure to see if they can live up to it. If there wasn't any hype behind Lubin, no one would've given a **** about this fight but it was the most anticipated fight on the card. He came up short, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Rooting and hyping have two different meanings bruh. I'll root for someone like Salido all day but it doesn't mean he's a world beater. I’m rooting for newcomer Ryan Garcia. Hes has fought nobody, but he could be a big name in a few years. Kid has insane handspeed. But again, hes fought nobodies. We may find out he has Amir for a chin, but from what I have seen so far, he looks to be exiting at this point.

Ah! My bad. My friend made it seem like it was a popular opinion, and I lumped you in with him. The jury is still out on him though, but he has done what we'd expect a world class fighter to do with guys like Algieri and Bundu. Yeah the kid's promising for sure, his defence still seems a bit leaky, but when you've got fight ending power it can be worth taking a few - specially against the likes of Algieri and Bundu. What I'm really hoping is that the Brook fight gets made. Right now I'd favour Kell, but if Spence can prove it against Brook (or indeed Bradley if that left-field piece of breaking news comes to fruition) then I'm sold.

The people who say he's the best Welterweight already, the same people who say the likes of Thurman, Brook, Porter, Garcia would get destroyed by Spence and are therefore running away from him. Keep up! You'd be surprised, man. Had a discussion with a dude had Errol in his top 5 P4P recently. He claimed to base his decision on resume too, which puzzled me. And that's all he is a prospect. Brook's resume is poor but he has fought higher level opponents including 2 top fighters in Porter and GGG. Spence hasn't even fought one top fighter yet. Who says he's more than a prospect? And Brook only has one higher calibre opponent on his resume.

Many folks desperately wanted to believe Charlo was a hype job (for whatever reason) so they used Jrock as a foil, the hipster pick like they knew something everybody else didn't. Somebody that Charlo was supposed to be scared of because he's a hype job. Something like that. Doesn't matter that he knocked out Jrock, somebody else will be held over his head. Repeat ad nauseam.
