Can we say Crawford is a younger Mayweather? Do you agree with Freddie Roach when he says Crawford is a young version of Floyd?
Smilarity:
-They are both the same size
-Both undefeated
-Both are multiple weight champions (Crawford will likely become a champion at 147, is unified champion at 135-140)
-Both are getting past challenges making it seem easy.
-Both are getting discredited for their wins
-Both are fighters we can say are not brawlers, but are experts of the ''sweet science'' of boxing.
Difference:
-Mayweather was trash talking alot, wich made him become popular to casual fans around the world // Crawford is quiet, he might never become as popular.
Their styles are different, Crawford being rangy and throwing more combinations. Floyd was more about movement on the outside and reaching in with a right hand. Floyd is harder to hit, but Crawford has more power and his style is more entertaining, at least for now.
Okay, i've been a Mayweather fan too before he became too main street. But actually, Crawford is as dominant as Mayweather ever was. Crawford never came close to loose in one scorecard as far as i know.
Crawford is very good and dominant as well -- but, so far, he didn't face he level of competition Floyd faced up to 29 of age... and that not even close...
Definitely not a young Mayweather. A lot of people underrate young Mayweather & how dominate he was. Floyd was fighting & stopping Genaro Hernandez 24 months into his pro career at age 21. Crawford was fighting & going to decision with Angel Rios (9 wins, 6 losses) 2 years into his pro career. Different levels of talent,. Very different career trajectories when you consider both guys were guided by Arum early on who tends to smartly move guys based on their talent & skill & he took his sweet time moving Crawford into competitive fights.
Defense wins fights.
Is it me or does it seem as if Floyd is not only better defensively but asladdo better offensively when you compare him to crawford.
Floyd is light years better then Crawford...
Floyd never got discredited for his wins, not by anyone credible.
Plenty of supposed credible people still don't want to give him credit for his wins. Floyd used to fight fellow champions and it still wasn't good enough in the eyes of most people. Fights that were considered great fights for anyone else were still considered not good enough when Floyd was fighting them.
It's no wonder he just started to focus on money, it's not like he was ever getting that much respect for what he did in boxing.
I dont think anyone beats Crawford 140-147, I'm a Brit and I think his challenge will be Josh Taylor, 2018 it will be a classic, mark my words, theyre made for each other
No. It's a damn shame people don't realize how dominant young Mayweather was. Say all you want about cherry picking and being defensive minded and Vegas judges and Kenny Bayless. But go back and look at young Mayweather's performances. He was dominant. The first and only scorecard Mayweather lost was against Oscar. THE GUY HAS ONLY LOST ONE SCORECARD HIS WHOLE CAREER AND THAT WAS AGAINST THE HOUSE AND MONEY FIGHTER IN VEGAS!!!!!
The rest of the time, Floyd was the house guy...... So of course he never lost another card.
as much as he gets slated, mayweather was an absolutely phenomenal fighter. Cant just keep comparing new up and coming fighters to him. Crawfords not beaten a top opponent yet. If he goes up to welter and starts doing a job on people then we can start saying about him being a potential mayweather level fighter. People moan about the size difference between brook and golovkin, but jesus christ they should have a look at crawford v gamboa, was watching the highlights again today and gamboa is like half the size of him.
stop..Postol was a unification bout and was a 50/50 fight

Dude, this is red K worthy.
None of those "similarities" warrant a comparison.
Also, much of this is pure ignorance, or trolling.
Floyd never got discredited for his wins, not by anyone credible. I haven't seen Crawford get discredited either. And no, you trying to argue otherwise isn't going to make that true, because it's not.
You can be a brawler and an expert of the sweet science as well, just goes to show how much you know about this sport.
There really isn't much similar between the two at all quite frankly. A waste of a thread here.
