Here's the thing about Joseph Parker, of all the current HW champions he's looked the most vulnerable but he's also fought the best competition. Other than Tyson Fury of course but he's not a champion anymore.
Takam and Ruiz are better than anyone that Wilder or Joshua have faced. Both are far superior to Bermane Stiverne and definitely Charles Martin.
So you have to really ask yourself is he just not that good, or is it that he's facing better opponents and it's harder to look good against better opponents?
The jury is still out on him. Keep in mind, he's also 24 years old and is one of the youngest HW champions ever. So there is still room to grow.
Takam is way too overrated on here
One thing for sure is Parker should avoid Hayemaker at all costs. Haye will fancy it and will see this as a great opportunity for a belt. Parker is not ready for AJ, Fury, Klitschko, Haye or even Wilder. These guys are different animals compared to Ruiz.
No way Ruiz would have lasted against any of them.
Parker's needs more time or he will get blasted..

Garbage? No.
Certainly not what some people thought though. I think he will be a solid top 10 guy for years to come.
Ruiz is a good fighter. We cant keep judging him on his body if his performances are good.
I don't think he's garbage and I agree with you about Ruiz. But if he "becomes a solid top 10" it only speaks of the state of the division.
Unlike others here, I give him props for the Ruiz win but he (Parker) just isn't very good.
Not impressed by him at all either, have been saying it for a while.. I don't get the hype, he's an average fighter. As soon as he steps UP and I mean UP he loses.
I haven't seen the fight but I always thought the guy was overrated. He is the biggest fish in a very small pond. New Zealand is not known for good boxers.

Have always said he needs a lot of work when his team were talking about fighting Joshua next, he would have been stopped within 5 rounds, he has the tools doe and he needs another 3/4 fights under his belt.
a out of shape andy ruiz jr and Parker went life and death with him LOL
Yeah his trainer said that parker is better than Tua was, thats a bunch of **** Tua would of slept that fat boy for sure
This is becoming a joke, I can't believe garbage like this and Joshua v Martin were for the same titles that were held but some of the greats.
have to agree, I do not view Parker as a champion.
Parker did what he had to do to get the win, though it wasn't an impressive performance like other Heavyweight championships but I thought he boxed smartly and took Ruiz to the later rounds, he hit Ruiz Jr., with a lot of body shots to ware him down and it worked.
