Kovalev would land a throw 3 punches, miss 2, land 1 meaningful punch. Ward would crouch down and spring at Kovalev, get his head stuck under Kovalev's armpit and "score points" by throwing harmless arm punches to Kovalev's hip. that's why I'm surprised by how many people have the fight scored so close. You either count count those and have Ward up by 1 million punches or you don't count them, which would mean he lost most of the rounds+got knocked down.
