Well kovalev said he underperformed due to mental issues Says he will be better next time Does that sound like something a winner would say? what kind of ***** logic is that, he won more rounds and knocked ward down, that means he won, but got robbed.

Call me crazy, but I suspect Ward will be difficult to contend with after this W. I highly doubt Ward vs Kovalev II happens next. I'm almost positive there will be a Ward/Kov co-featured bouts HBO card or Kovalev will fight & Ward will sideline himself again probably over money ****. Also I think I've heard people saying this fight completed Ward HBO contract so if he doesn't re-sign with HBO or there are drawn out talks thats going to present problems with making a rematch so idk how much of a rivalry this can all end up being & more importantly how soon they can fight again, but boxing needs some rivalries so I'm rooting for being wrong & these guys fight sometime next summer-ish. Yep. He has no contract right now. Theres going to be tons of issues that need to be negotiated.

It's so intriguing too because we are left with the exact scenario and expectations that he had before the fight. How often does that happen? We saw that Ward can outlast Kovalev. We also saw that Sergey can drop Dre and give him problems. I favor Ward in a rematch but seeing how diverse the spectrum of opinions are, it looks to still be a 50/50 fight in the rematch! Can't ask for more.
