What happened to all this talk of Ward being p4p no. 1? lol
Kovalev just showed that Ward isn't the type of versatile fighter he was being compared to. I won't even mention those other fighters name because that's a disgrace.
Ward is a 2 trick poney. Clinch and fight on the inside, then jab on the outside. Kovalev out did him in both.
I actually said something on BA or whatever forum I was on at the time, 4 years ago after the Dawson fight, that if Ward fights someone who is healthy and can match him for size and strength he loses. That's what we saw last night.
I'm gonna put my hand up and say I didn't think Kovalev would be as strong but he was and once he took that from Ward, what did he show exactly? He showed Chilemba levels of defense, which is good but nothing special.
Ward went above his weight class to fights the new best and most dangerous opponent possible and he was able to win. That achievement make sure him #1 P4P.
This isnt guts as in corales getting off the floor and throwing a bomb ,it guts and concentration to get up compose yourself and stick to a gameplan after having all your senses scattered, you could see it in ward how shocked he was that hed never been in eith someone that good,he managed to come back from that and outbox kovalev in some rounds ,he won at least 5 imo, never once said hed win
I saw the same kind of composure in floyd when rocked by mosley
People are getting a misconception that being p4p no.1 means all their fights have to be one sided wins...sometimes p4p champs are in with better calibre fighters than what floyd had on his resume
Why is showing guts all of a sudden making someone a p4p entrant?

He showed the will of a p4p champion tbh ,i had the fight kovalev, fights can be close and nothing will be perfect like most mayweather fights this was two exceptional fighters and the winner whether cloae deserves p4p status

No1 p2p fighter doesn't look like that in the first 3 rounds.. He was getting wobbled by jabs, KD in 2nd and was holding and lifting Sergey's leg at one point. It looked awful and somehow comical.
Nd Sergei was putting him in head locks. Let's not act like they weren't both wrestling and holding. Both of them were. Sergei didn't like fighting on the inside so every time Ward went in, he either, held, pushed or headlocked. It was a contentious ugly fight at times. But especially in the mid to late rounds, Ward got some good body work done on the inside. These were high quality p4p fighters fighting. I've seen Floyd look bad against lesser opposition. Same can be said for Manny. P4p doesn't mean you don't look bad at times. Everyone looks bad. It's boxing.
1) Crawford 2) GGG 3) Ward 4) Gonzalez
Ward performance against Kovalev as not really impressive. He did wrestle kovalev for the first 5 rounds until he got him tired. From there he started winning the rounds on points. Ward is a clever fighter, more clever than Kovalev thats for sure. But he lack the offensive ability that separate him from my top 2 p4p fighters. Hes playing too much dirty tactics instead of just boxing.
Ward is number 1 on my list. Before the fight my list was .
1. Ward 2. Rigo 3. Kovalev 4. Crawford 5. Gonzalez 6. GGG 7. Danny Garcia 8. Canelo 9. Pacman 10. Thurman

Being pound for pound means you qin fights no matter what, not that youre a carbon copy of mayweather, other fighters do get hit but have other things that mayweather doesnt also
No. Lists like yours and other posters don't matter because nobody thinks "lets google that retard Loadedwraps P4P list", nobody cares what you think. :dunce:
If I am a retard by boxing standards your much lower bud.
Have you literally ever held your own opinion and defended it in here?
You embrace the popular opinion which is the mark of a sheep and casual.
the only reason no one is googling my list is because i'm not famous. My list holds more weight than yours though and most on here.
Hilarious how you are still riding this "only lists that I agree with matter" wave though.
Will be fun to see you squirm if any list out there "googleable" contradicts what you want to believe.

I agree. One thing i noticed is Kovalev not cutting off the ring, which GGG is a master at. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but GGG still gets taken to school.
ggg also doesnt do much work inside, he would get mugged by ward and jab and right hand to death by kov

GGG is too small for light heavyweight.
If they make a catchweight of 164...which is very unlikely now considering Ward isn't going back down to smw just yet, then GGG can maybe match them with his skill but anything more than that and he gets stopped by Kovalev and smothered by Ward.
But GGG isn't part of the discussion for this anyway.
Let's be honest, the former 2 best P4P guys made their way there fighting stiffs and over the hill big names ... Ward and Kovalev just fought their equals, top class prime elite fighters . Honestly they both should be #1 and 2 now and the others should drop down lower
That's a load of bollocks, especially when you speak of Pacquiao.
People like you need to stop diverting or saying rubbish like "both deserve credit for making this fight".
First of, Kovalev is the best light heavy on the planet and has been since unifying most of the division. Ward is a guy who has one top opponent in almost 5 years.

Kovalev is a good fighter and it was never going to be easy fighting him. He judges distance, has a very good jab and a good boxing brain not even mentioning the power. Ward is definitely very good, I'm not sure about being pound for pound best, amybe at 168lbs but definitely not as a light heavyweight. They have to fight Adonis Stephenson to see how they react to his power and style. In as good as Ward is, truth is, he made his name fighting stiffs from Europe.
Well it's between him and Kovalev. So let's say 1a and 1b. I think those two are without a doubt the best fighters in the world. And they proved that to anyone with a brain for boxing.
Honestly the discussion is mute, when you have 90% or more of the genuine boxing publications scoring the fight for Kovalev and almost 99% of fans doing the same, I think the argument ends.
Where are you getting those numbers from? And are people only genuine when they agree with you??
I completely agree with you that Ward is not P4P number 1 but the rest of your posts are just you being a tool in all honesty.
