if you look at the timeline and the rhetoric from both teams it's obvious that they didn't want the fight. ward had been out for a long time and was movig to 175 lbs. he went to las vegas and weighed in for a fight against sergey kovalev yesterday. you think he "ducked" a 160 lber? fighters typically don't pick who they fight. they can pick who they don't fight, but they don't make fights and negotiate. they get contracts and their management goes through them and tells them if it's a good fit or not.

Golovkin's team has never denied that. Andre has never missed weight. He took a catch weight after the layoff but there was no indication he couldn't have made 168 again.
