Ward, Kovalev, and maybe the last threat to either (& their P4P status) in Stevenson, and Darnell Boone has properly tested all of them, yet is 23-23-4..
These boxing anomalies, has there been others? Accepted, the stevenson loss was avenged, ward climbed off the canvas to win their fight, and kovalev made sure there was no split decision in the rematch, but he's the only real blemish for all of them, he's the single common factor
Jimmy young
He beat George Foreman and according to most people beat Ali aswell
Had he got the Ali victory, he would have had 2 victories over arguably the greatest boxer of all time in Ali and an ATG top 5-10 heavyweight champion of all time.
I dont think any journeyman could match that, even most champions
Wow, yes exactly, this kind of thing. Would be labelled journeyman, but somehow they could turn it up on multiple p4p top touted opponents who then go on to do great things.
There must be pride in being able to say, of this p4p Saturday show down, and possible full division unification afterward, you can honestly say you're the only man to test every one of them. Truly a bogey man that must have taught then all something, it's a shame he didn't have the greatest starts and perhaps training..

I would say Salido somewhat fits the bill too. No one has an easy fight with him.
Nah man, Salido is a multi-time champion and has been one of the very best fighters at FW for a decade. Very big difference between a good journeyman giving prospects a tough fight and a top multiple time champion in a ten year career.
Fighters like Boone are vital to the sport. These are the guys a promoter needs to test an up and coming fighter. Despite his .500 record, there is no denying that the guy is a world class pro.
Emmanuel Augustus fighters like them will give you all you can handle and prove if you are the real deal or not
Yea I miss Augustus, one of the most entertaining fighters of all time... If he had better management he would of been a star... hope he's recovering well.
But he was robbed a lot too, remember the Courtney Burton fight. One of (if not the)worst/most disgusting fights in history.

Bert Cooper is one guy who had a bit of a similar path to Boone. He was a heavyweight in the early 90's.

what abt porky medina or the guy that ko'd badou jack?
rogers mtagwa was a real stingray for a minute too
Yeah some fighters are better than the record suggests. When you take a closer look, you'll see that they typically take fight on short notice and have split focus.
