Carlos Balderas heard what Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya had to say. In the end, the 2016 U.S. Olympian determined that Richard Schaefer was the appropriate promoter for the Santa Maria, California native and his older brother, Jose Balderas. Schaefer, who once ran De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, announced Monday during a conference call that his new company, Ringstar Sports, has signed Carlos Balderas and Jose Balderas to promotional contracts. I guess that is how Schaeffer is going to start out more logical than him going after established big name.
Interesting call from Balderas because it is a start-up even is Schaeffer has a lot of connections. Still they are jumping into a small pond that will be focused on their success, no chance of getting lost in the shuffle with Schaeffer right now.
How many staffers does Ringstar have right now?
From Rafael:
"These kids have the skills inside the ring and they carry themselves the right way outside of the ring. The family still has a place in Mexico City and they are bilingual, so my plan is to also have them fight sometimes in Mexico. I am already in discussions with Televisa about them."

What a loser. Taking quick money up front instead of joining a real stable. Speaking of fronting, I know 100% for a fact he never got a pitch from GBP. He approached GBP.

I made a thread about it, for the moment, Teofimo Lopez, Robson Concencao, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly and Carlos Balderas.
I meant the American fighters.
I think GRJ brother signed with Haymon. Balderas signed with Ringstar. Shakur Stevenson still hasn't signed. I don't know if Nico Hernandez has signed with anyone (or if he plans on going pro).

I'll say this Balderas is taking a risk because Schaefer has a true up start promotion.
It will be interesting to see what dates and venues both companies battle for. Oscar has 2 venues he has locked down monthly to showcase his prospects. It will interesting to see if Schaefer attempts to do the same.
Competition for talent and dates will be heated up next year on the west coast.
Keep them busy Richard. Keep them busy.
Three times a year would be good for the sport.
Fans need fresh faces, not these one-fight-a-year fighters we have now.
